So there is a lot of great lore hidden away within Destiny...Including a rich story behind each of the Factions residing in the Tower. Who are they? What do they stand for? History lesson: Dead Orbit - They're basically the group that preaches "We need to get the hell out of here." The name essentially means "We are Dead in Orbit," assuming they stay and fight. They don't believe there will be a Golden Age, and want to seek new a new homeworld. They recruit guardians to make a stand against possible wars between factions, and any future threats. New Monarchy - These guys are the self-proclaimed "Government" of the Tower, despite the existence of the Consensus (A governing body in the City). They would rather reform Tower politics into what I imagine is a dictatorship, with a "Monarch" taking the place of the Speaker. While it MAY sound misguided, they do it with the belief that they'll find the lost technology to begin a new Golden Age, and do it for the good of the City. They believe in law and order. Future War Cult - This Faction is possibly the most dire and may turn out to be the most prepared. Their belief is that the darkness is inevitable, and whether they flee or stay, they'll have to fight. They focus on arming guardians, and forming a militarized city. They were a late edition to the City, when the Consensus became intrigued with FWC's views. Vanguard - Very basic; They lead the current fight against the Darkness, creating a defensive perimeter around the city. They arm the guardians with what they need, and provide bounties on high value targets. Has this convinced you to change sides? Or is it all about the faction gear?
