if you are a campy sight line sniper then you could probably make do with a low sensitivity. If you are a close range run and gunner type then you should probably play on a high sensitivity so that you can turn quickly as close range targets change angle a lot quicker.
-
You've definitely got a point there. However, the pros sniping around 4 sure aren't staying/camping at the very back - they also have a more polivalent playstyle and don't shy 10 meter-gunfights. So, somehow they find ways to compete against blink shotguns. Doorway situations are a great example where experienced players - regardless of the sensitivity - excel and have an edge over their competitors. I still believe that you need to find out what sensitivity is best for yourself to win the majority of any kind of battle. You'll eventually get accustomed to how neatly you have to treat your thumbsticks in order to land those precise shots.

well doorways function as choke points so that is sort of the same idea as sightlines where you already know where your target is going to be. Capping B on Delphi when enemies are coming from 3 directions is a better example of where high sensitivity is better imo.
-
That's where you don't try to snipe all 3 unless you are positive you can.

Edited by Roemer_91: 8/26/2015 7:08:16 AMOh, that zone is nasty! I know what you mean, of course, but depending on the playstyle of a player or even the whole fireteam, different strategies apply. I'd recommend securing the horseshoe first and then cap B as quickly as possible... Or have one or two guys cap the zone while the others hold off the incoming enemies (which usually trickle in one by one, rather than coming in one huge wave of 6 players). If you have teammates to communicate with, you can each concentrate on one direction and you don't necessarily have to spin around with a 10-sensitivity.
-
Situations always arise where turn speed matters. You recommended having teammates focus the other openings.... your teammates can die, you can get rushed, you can get hit with a flash bang, someone might call out a GG flank. Sometimes you inevitably have to adapt quickly to changes. You said you play on 8 so I'd say to try out 3 for a while and see how limiting it is to understand my point. If you can shoot accurately then a higher sensitivity is only helping by removing the limitations on what you can do. I'm not saying what is best for each person but rather that a higher sensitivity can be very helpful if you are an aggressive player. The best sensitivity is the highest one that you can aim accurately with in my opinion.
-
You're absolutely right, of course. The facts you mention are solid and probably the reason I had gradually increased my sensitivity to 8. As an experiment, I'm going to set it lower soon and try how I do. Cheers!

cheers :)

Have you had time to try out some sensitivities and personal preferences yet?

Edited by Tekn0z: 8/24/2015 1:19:24 PMI've been sticking with 3 and 4 for now. I switched over from a PS3 (with control freaks) about a week ago and the new PS4 controller is kinda weird. So far it seems okay, but I just need practice with the new controller. The reason I'm now, not too worried about using lower sensitivity is that players like RealKraftyy uses 3 sensitivity and are amazing snipers, so even if I can get half as good as him, it'll be great for me :)
-
That's nice. You'll get accustomed to the new controller soon, mate!
-
Completely personal preference, although I recommend testing between 3-6 sensitivity. Sniping is about small, accurate movements, just play around until you get comfortable with a sensitive and work with that :)
-
I'm not great at sniping, but I'd consider myself pretty decent. I pretty much only snipe in crucible. I play on a sensitivity of 3 or 4, I don't know, it just feels right
-
I'm playing on 8. There's people sniping with a sensitivity of 4, others are on 10... However, you have to try out different sensitivities and see what works best for you - just experiment some. You can always do that on Patrol before entering the Crucible. I'd recommend starting at a lower sensitivity and adjusting depending on how you feel.

I snipe at 10 sensitivity mean while my friends are using 3-8 sensitivity. I still do better than them but it just feels so slow to what I'm used to.
