Green bar to red bar to green bar in crucible

My issue is as the title says: lately I have noticed that I cannot go a single game with a stable and steady green connection in the CRUCIBLE, and I cannot figure out why. I know that tons of others have complained about the lag issues in this game, but I wanted to hear if anyone has found a solution. Oftentimes, I will start a game of control or clash or some such, and about a minute or two into the game, my full green connection will drop to maybe 4/5 green, and then plummet to one red bar. Thirty seconds or so later, I am back to full green, and often times someone else is red bar. Sometimes I don't jump back to green, sometimes I stay red for the rest of the game. Whatever the case is, it makes my experience playing PvP in this game absolutely unenjoyable. And unless there is some very specific thing or port that needs opened or something, it is not my internet. I play a ton of online PvP games, and not a single one of them ever has any lag AT ALL. League of Legends, The last of us online, Battlefield Hardline, GTA V. Destiny has absolutely no excuse for people to be lagging when I can play at 30ms on Battlefield 4 in a server of 64 players, or in a full game on GTA V or Hardline. What is more, this is ONLY in crucible. Trials of Osiris is smoothe as butter, as well as PoE and Raids etc. Crucible is where the lag begins. What gives destiny? Is it really because the game lacks dedicated servers that I cannot play a single game of crucible without having a second or two of lag between someone being shot to death and actually dying? Has anyone found a solution to this or something that makes it more bearable? Do you think this game will ever get dedicated servers?

  • Check NAT type, try and get an open NAT. Have you port forwarded? I just placed my XB1 in the DMZ. Some routers if it's a ISP own brand type one have really bad Upnp features. But as others have mentioned P2P is a lottery, you can have a stable fast connection, but if other players in your game are the other side of the world you're stuffed.

      • It just happens. That's networking for you. A great connection is difficult to maintain in this game, regardless of the quality of your internet, regardless of whether you're on wireless or hard-wired. As long as you aren't constantly red bar, it doesn't matter. People will say "You ruin PvP for the rest of us!", but don't realize that they themselves have red bar before as well. It happens to everyone regardless of your internet quality. No, I don't think this game will get dedicated servers anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong.

          • Well p2p based games have always had this problem without dedicated servers, makes everyone hat doesn't understand it think everyone is using lag switches ( some are obviously) Some games helped this by matching players regionally instead of globally,

          • Dude i'm in the same boat as you. Constant green to red baring, people die a second or 2 after i have shot them, in some extreme case's i have noticed around 3 seconds after i have shot them and they have ran of after killing me then randomly die. I think destiny just needs to drop xbox 360 and ps3 support, and create dedicated servers for a better PVP experience. Who ever own's an old gen console, will eventually upgrade. Only reason they haven't already, is because they can play on there old gen systems I think destiny will eventually do this some time next year.

            • Crucible play is not done on a dedicated server. Your lag is due to the connection to the host. Port forwarding, dmz hosting, dns servers, mtu optimizing can only go so far. Who is the host? Fuck if I know, but he probably in timbuckfuck with El cheapo interneto.
