well as bungie has stated they are giving us 2.0 versions of SOME exotics while this is really cool and an awsome feature, why are only a few exotics being brought to year 2 as upgradeable?
for example why is the last word one of the most broken PVP weapons to date being brought to year two as a new 2.0 exotic and the thorn is not
there are 3 questions in particular that need to be answered, the first is a simple one
Q1) why are only a few exotics being brought to year 2? are the other exotics planed to come as well or should we toss our exotics because upgradability will never be an option?
- weapons like plan C, or pocket infinity would become instant dismantles when the taken king comes out without year 2 versions
A:???
Q2) are exotics limited to a predetermined damage level?or is weapon fusion available for exotics as well?
-is year one suros stuck at 160 attack meaning exotics like thorn will be locked as well without a year 2 model?
-is year two suros stuck at 280 is this upgradeable or are exotics as a whole non upgradeable?
A:???

Q3) this is the big one! are exotics going to conflict with each other in our inventory? if we say have an exotic class item and perhaps in the future an exotic sparrow, ship, ghost shell, ect are these going to conflict with out exotic load outs meaning we might not be able to equip an exotic piece of armor?
A:???
these things would be greatly appreciated to be cleared up for the community to understand better thank you

I just want the ability to make all exotics tier 2. I don't care about an exotic 2.0 / new version. Like Mida, only Exotic Scout Rifle in the game. It needs to be upgradeable to the damage level of year 2. It's the only option Scout Rifle users have had all year long it deserves it's seat in 2.0 damage. What is the point of even having an exotic if they don't stay relevant through out the game? I understand we need new weapons, and I want new ones... but if they all are relevant it's diverse. Its cool to see a year 1 weapon in year 5(exotic). Tldr: Mida?!

Trials armor R.I.P.

3. No they won't conflict, we can have emblems that exotic without armor problems or weapon problems, I doubt exotic shells or sparrows will conflict with each other or armor and weapons
-
Year 2 blue weapons have an attack level of 210, Banshee's white engram prototype weapons 200, year 1 exotics, 160. So, better off using an uncharged melee attack than Gjallarhorn?

I think Bungie has confused themselves this go round.
-
No, it's not hard to understand
-
I think these are fair questions. I too became more confused than informed on this topic.

With regard to Thorn the idiot who put it in the game in the first place realised what a big mistake they had made so the year 2 upgrade will have it firing aunt bessie roast potatoes instead of poisonous shards of op death and destruction. This will happen once they have everybody's cash sometime around December

Firstly, it's to stop people using the same weapons and try out new gear. Though these exotics may be upgrade able later in the year, probably in other DLCs at bungies discretion. Last word is being fixed in weapon update though, so it's original intention as hip fire gun might be used that way. People think year one exotics will go up slightly in attack but not much. Necrochasm at fully maxed was seen at 172 attack so you could infer as maxed year one exotics will have a similar limit, while year 2 versions will go much higher, 280?

Edited by Hippo_Legacy: 8/20/2015 1:33:52 PMWell, question 1 we can't answer. Question 2 they answered about 3 times if you were paying attention to the stream. I'll assume you didn't see it so you don't have to look foolish. Yes the year 2 exotics will have the fusion ability, and yes year 1 exotics will be locked at 160. And idk about question 3.

I'm right there with you. They may have answered some questions but they generated a whole bunch of new ones by not being detailed enough and fully explaining what's happening. Hopefully weekly updates will fill in the gaps left by the reveal videos

Given that they can effectively engineer any of these new weapons to have any kind of stats why does it actually matter? Thorn may be the goto weapon for Crucible these days but say there was a Year 2 Thorn, what says it would be equally devastating? Already we don't really know what the 2.0 tuning of the current Thorn is going to look like but even if it still reigns nothing says that, if it existed, a "Thorn 2" will necessarily inherit all that makes it good in one particular environment.
