Who would you define as a tryhard?
Someone who uses rare/lower tier weapons?
Someone who intentionally doesn't go level 34?
I've been called a tryhard for using bad juju in crucible. It's a magnificent gun!

I feel like a try hard is anyone who's giving that 110% even though they don't really NEED to. Still, it's an arbitrary description of player tactics, but I guess I'd call myself one. I don't use rares and I don't go level 34 because the armor that I use for crucible isn't the same that I use in PoE because I don't actually need to be 34 to body kids in the crucible. I just like to give it my all even though it's isn't Iron Banner or Trials. Why hold back just because the game mode is less competitive?

I've been called tryhard using Bad JuJu too :D

A tryhard is a made up word kiddies use to justify getting wrecked in an online competitive multiplayer game.

Fgt bitches.

No such thing as a try hard who plays to lose?

Someone who bumps their own post

Edited by Insomniatron: 8/15/2015 8:04:15 PMIt's just another nonsense term used to dismiss someone you don't like for arbitrary reasons. If you use a certain loadout and show off gear, instead of submitting to random other people's unspoken rules about what you should be using instead, you're a tryhard. If you don't try hard enough and don't meet other people's random standards, you're a scrub. If you defend the game in a thread, you're a fanboy. It's a shortcut to thinking. Label someone this way, and you don't have to actually respond to them from then on. Whatever, tryhard. A tryhard would say that. Get a life and/or a girlfriend, tryhard.

1 ReplyA tryhard is a phrase used by butthurt players when they get beaten up hardcore. Basically it means "he´s better than me and I don´t know how else to insult him"

1 ReplyEdited by CrestedEBIN: 8/15/2015 7:39:28 PMTry hards are simply people who become overly invested in a game - They are trying hard because they know that there are things in life they should be doing other than playing destiny So to compensate one will 'try hard' as a justification for their other shortcomings in real life . - - - - Real life won't matter so much if you can walk away with a 20.0 k/d in crucible on a regular basis right? (Wrong :P) , then one can feed their own delusions of making money going destiny PRO - but since one knows this will rarely ever happen they just try to rub in the salt when they find a way to open up wounds in players much less emotionally invested . * everyone else is just playing a game for fun . * try hards are like crack addicts who need their next fix

Edited by plague75: 8/15/2015 7:37:52 PMGuardian dictionary: try hard. A term usually used for someone playing control but has no concept of capture and control the zones. Example some one who's taking heavy ammo alone then getting blammed into oblivion by opposing teams rockets, or/And runs around like headless chicken trying to kill all that moves. " including own team members" Has no interest in controlling anything more than the direction he or she's running in. Lmao It's a bit of a oxymoron sounds to most a good thing but actually used as a term to belittle opposing players. Would like to add that it can work occasionally. If there's enough of them.
