Swords in destiny

What if... We had swords in destiny? These would be short-range secondarys. Here would be how it works.
The sword wouldn't be as strong as Crota ' s, but it would be stronger than a normal melee. The drawing animation on these would be like drawing it from a sheath, and you use the swords in either first person or third person, there would be a two options (on where you usually select your kind of ballistics for your gun, or like where you pick the scope on queenbreakers bow.) Where you can pick third person or first person. Also, unlike the sword of crota, the slashing with any sword would not make you lunge, and there is no heavy attack. If you jump in the air and slash, you would have a movement similar to what the fist of havoc does. Moving in an arch until you hit the ground. But the distance would me much less. You would also be able to slash while running with the sword.
Now onto the Stat counters for the swords:
Size: Size changes the reach and damage of the sword. It can also change the asthetics. The smallest sizes would resemble a katana, and the largest ones would be like a broadsword.

Weight: Wheight would determine the swing speed and have another factor in the damage dealt. It also affects at the speed you run. The lighter the sword, the faster you run. The lightest swords could get you running at slightly over normal running speed with a gun. Where the heavier ones can get you running at about a third of the normal running speed. This does not affect walking or when you are not holding the sword.

Blocking: The sword will allow you to SOMETIMES block attacks from enemies. The higher the blocking stat, the higher the chance to block. The highest chance to possible get with a sword is 10% for ranged attacks and 25% for melee attacks. Note that for range the chance of blocking only happens for one bullet. And it cannot block anything with splash damage. (Not counting wizards) Anything with large projectiles (Ogres) can't be blocked. All melees can be blocked, excluding any explosion melees. (Valus Tu' Arc, The nexus) While blocking, your movement is reduced. (To about twice the speed of walking while cleansing with the Vault of glass relic)
Now on to possible modifiers: Here is a list I came up with. If you have a good suggestion for a sword perk I will add it to the list. Exotic perks: Hit and Run: Running for a short time increases damage, killing an opponent increases run speed. (Stacks up to 4x) Metal on Metal: Striking an opponent while running creates a very short flash bang (The Titans blinding grenade but it goes away 3x as fast) and damages nearby enemies. (Like the Titans A.O.E gloves upon melee). Normal perks: Blunt weight: Increases damage against shields and armor, less damage against flesh Sharp edge: Increased damage against flesh, less damage against shields and armor. Take a knee: increased slide distance while holding From the skies: Increased jump while holding (only affects your first jump, not your second jump) So what do you think? Post your ideas down below!
