And I think he is completely wrong in every way. That's my opinion. I would rather have "micro pay walls" if it helps fund Bungie to make Destiny better. I love Destiny and if you don't then "DONT PLAY IT!"

  • They got 500m to produce. Made around 400m from their launch (but activision probably had a cut of this part). Add in the two DLCS and TTK and its WELL over $1B. Money is not what they need.

  • 500m for a 10 year franchise that has to have DLCs and sequels. The sales are cut drastically toward Activision and they monitor what Bungie must sell. Every company really needs a way to get more funds so they can have more resources. We are talking about 500 employees with a state of the art facility. If Activision gives them deals with outside companies where they can get more funds, by all means it makes sense in a business sense. If they micro-transactioned, those funds would have a large sum directly towards Bungie and not Activision. (if it is not contract killed profit wise).

Activision gave bungie 500m they dont get a cut out of that. 50m a year to make the games/dlc. Thats still ALOT. 1m per person.

  • *facepalm* you don't even understand how a business runs do you? 500 million is for.... Game development, marketing, facility maintenance, hiring voice actors, and finally salary. Its not even close to 1 mill per person. Maybe a few thousand over a course of 10 years. This is nowhere near enough to live off of.

  • Wow so all these other companies that dont make even half of 500m and still live are all just coicidences? You're an idiot. This game has one of the highest incomes of any game possibly only beaten by call of duty. They are living just fine. And thats no excuse to shove hundreds of dollars out our ass to pay for DLC all the time. Skyrims DLC were 15$ ea. and each had its own exotic armor and weapons and whole maps (much larger than destinys maps which mostly consist of empty long paths between each area) along with tons of dialog and quests and NEW RACES as enemy types. The taken are the same enemys with a new ability. Idc what you say. These guys arent going bankrupt or are anywhere NEAR it. Have you seen some of their houses? I dont care anymore. And yeah you are right, some is used for all those things. Nobodys going to win. So im done here.

You are an idiot. Publishers, dlc, and sales help keep companies profit. Bethesda had money from publishers and extra from a deal with Microsoft to have their DLCs a month before Playstation. Bethesda's company is smaller than Bungies and the game was not over a 10 year life cycle for a deal. Please smack your self for your stupidity. Edit: Also personal finance doesn't = business finance. If you really wan't to blame something for a large amount of recycled models look at Activision and blame last gen. They are severily holding Destiny back right now. The vault space problem? Its because of last gen limitations. Finally take a long look at Bethesda once again. ESO is the biggest cash grab failure of a MMO I have ever seen by Bethesda. Originally, it was a monthly subscription you were forced to pay to play. After a few months people left in DROVES because it wasn't worth paying to play the game. They lost ALOT of money because of the lose in consistent income and the matience costs to their business as well as servers. They finally had to make the game without the monthly subscription to get players to come back but look there are micro-transactions now in the game that is killing progression in it.
