Edit: why do you guys say no?

I watched two minutes and everything he said was wrong so I stopped. How on earth would trading increase play time? I spent so long trying to get Hopscotch yesterday and I'm about to go on to try and get it again. If player trading was in then I'd have it already and I'd get bored more quickly.

No, what an idiot. Muted

Edited by NL Helix: 8/9/2015 7:15:13 AMSeriously dude, this was posted back in 2014. Bungie already mentioned that they'll improve the drop system by making it so that you will have less chance of receiving the items you already got and increasing the droprate of items you haven't gotten yet. Got the boots, arms at CE, well then the droprate for those are dropped and thus you have a larger chance of receiving the chestpiece or helmet and basically fixing his argument. Also here's one argument you haven't thought about or just ignored, REAL WORLD TRADING! How can you prevent that someone will pay actual money to buy certain items from players in Destiny. There is nothing more devastating than scammers who steal people's money by not giving the items and leaving the victim with a loss of actual cash they worked for and having no interest to play the game ever again or complaining to Bungie. Even balancing the trade offer with items of equal value like in Warframe won't work as it'll destroy the argument of this dude that it will decrease the grind for new players and people can still scam others for money as the same value item can easily be a useless duplicate this scammer has. Trading in Destiny will never be a thing.

I believe they should add trading but get rid of xur
-
1 ReplyShut up Mister Burton. You are not brought upon this world to get it.
-
Trading will increase play time? In comes the noobie who has everything handed to him, gets bored after a week and leaves never to return.
-
"It would add playtime" HAHAHAHAHAHA dumbass alert

You can remove the corruption out of trading by automating it. Have a cue of which weapons are up for trade and what weapons you are willing to accept for each of your unwanteds. The system makes the swaps automatically, you don't know who you traded with, no contact or bartering needed. With the right algorithm it could work where trades would be 3 and 4 ways, which essentially rebalanced the game where everyone will have every weapon. No corruption because it's automated and anonymous. Also if what u are selling isn't ranked up but what you are receiving is, it will cost you that much glimmer, and or material.

For one, he completely ignores the whole trading for real world money argument in a video about the "major arguments" against trading. This game also has MMO elements, so of course people who have played longer will be farther ahead than new players. This game also has RPG elements, so of course people who have played longer will be farther ahead than new players. And, going with the MMO angle, most MMOs don't let you even trade Raid gear because that would be stupid OP. Still following the MMO angle: most MMOs only guarantee one drop per player after each Raid boss. We're already hella lucky everyone in the group has a chance to get something and we don't have to vote "need", "greed", or "pass".

I stopped listening after 2 minutes. Dude sounds like a friggin idiot.

I usually like kakis, but that vid was dumb. I couldn't find a single point to agree on.

Did you know that there are 2 different BTRD- 345 in the game? One is a white one sold by the Vanguard Armory guy. Other is the legendsry
#Irrelevant
-
I'm against any form of trading in Destiny. The last thing I need is some 9-year-old messaging me promising to give me Gjallarhorn for $10.

13 RepliesTrading in any MMO causes business, illicit business, with people spamming your inbox full of messages about how you can get Gjallahorn for 5.99. Or for a team to run you through the Vault of Glass or Crota's End for even more. Some people are desperate and will actually front the money, others, like children and those who don't understand scams will get their parent's credit card and disperse the information. If you say "Well Gyro, you're over-thinking what kids are capable to do these days, their parents would stop them." Sadly, some parents of those children won't even care until the bill comes in, then it'd be too late because that scam business just made off with the information and ran your kid through a Raid. This is prominent through Diablo 3, this is all over World of Warcraft, this is also in >Every MMO in Existence< Blizzard sent Activision a letter regarding "What not to do with an MMO." Trading was one of the key notes. Trading in Destiny also rids the player the feeling of getting that weapon on their own, if you put in 600 hours and finally get the weapon you've been dying for, congratz! You just made that challenge, but when you are putting in 600 hours and someone just gives you the weapon, its not a sense of satisfaction... Its ultimately a feeling of guilt. Because someone gave you, your dream, your accomplishment, and your mission to an end.

Edited by Shadow Artiste: 8/9/2015 3:00:35 AMThe lack of trading only benefits the developer's somewhat exploitative game design, so I think it's funny when the gamers defend its absence.
-
Absolutely 100% no.
-
We don't want trading. It will ruin RNG
-
Honestly it should be able to trade in your party... And up to like 30 minutes after. But only of the person who received it doesn't equip it. Kinda like how WoW does it.
-
Trading after the round is the only way I feel trading won't break the game There are people who have 4+ gjallarhorns that anyone would be willing to trade their weapons for Everyone would eventually have every exotic and every raid weapon
