They aren't gonna buff it. Here's why:
Dragons Breath technically has more potential damage than Gjallarhorn. However, this damage is never fully utilized as the target moves out of the solar flare. Another problem is that the low velocity coupled with no tracking makes it hard to hit targets. So the downfall isn't the fact that it doesn't deliver a lot of damage, it's that targets move out of the way, dodging rockets and flares.
So what if there was a way to trap targets, perhaps prevent them from moving. Something that could freeze them into place. Something coming with the taken King. I present to you, the Nightstalker super. Couple this with a Gjallarhorn nerf, now the Dragons Breath is gonna be a -blam!-ing beast.
To answer the question, it doesn't need a nerf. Come a month or so, and it'll be a monster.

When taken king comes out this will be a good thing to test. First target: sepiks prime lol

Yeah I'm hoping for it to work. I did notice in the trailer that the Nightstalker shot it at a yellow bar ogre. Now I'm not sure whether or not it had a name, but it is a start
-
Im a hunter player and I plan on maxing out the nightstalker quickly. Plus I love discovering new things about weapon abilities and subclass abilities. I bet I know some things even bungie doesn't
-
Any cool secrets you know about weapon and subclass perks? ;P I'd love to hear some of them
-
If you every want to talk I'm on 360 old gen if you have it. Secrets come with a price as they say. ;)
-
I also have a 360, I'll shoot you a friend request. It's late at night here so yeah :P
-
Late night here to.
-
I would love to share...but I'm not sure I want bungie to know until after patch 2.0.0. Also where is the fun in me just telling you. This is your hint, take a closer look at the new house of Wolves exotic shotgun, its special perk is very interesting at what it considers a kill. And for all I know this could be common knowledge. I just found it out with a friend.
-
im only using it on slow bosses. like urrox. 3 rockets/flares and he's reeling. :)
-
Yeah, it also works very well against Sekrion. Can't wait for it to be better
-
Of course that's assuming night stalker can even hold said boss in place. Remember, bosses are immune to quite a bit of stuff
-
Didn't one of the E3 videos show it stopping an Ogre (that I assume is one of the bosses)
-
Haven't seen it but an ogre is usually a yellow bar unless it had a name over it?
-
Very true. I would hope so, other wise it would be incredibly weak against them. Crossing my fingers that this is the case.
-
At least it'll work on yellow bars haha
