Lore Theory - Dredgen Yor

Hi everyone! This post is my theory on Dredgen Yor and who he was before he turned to the Darkness. TL;DR: Dredgen Yor is...
...Pahanin
So not much is known about Dredgen Yor before he fell to the Darkness, but I believe the Grimoire leaves some clues as to who he was. Re important Grimoire/Clues are within the Thorn 1 and Thorn 3 cards, Vault of Glass, Super Good Advice, and the Cloak of Dredgen Yor. First, Dredgen Yor. We know that at some point, Dredgen Yor was a highly respected guardian.
For he was a beacon - hope given form, yet still only a man. And writhin that truth there was great promise. If one man could stand against the night, then so too could anyone - everyone.
But then came the fall, the point at which the guardian became Dredgen Yor. What if this guardian was one that we already knew? Someone who had been through sorrow and sadness. One who could have been viewed as a hero, while seeing himself in a different way. Well there is one that could be this guardian, and not just a guardian but another Hunter. Pahanin. We know that Pahanin was a Hunter and one of the guardians that went with Kabr on his (second?) venture into the Vault of Glass. He was one of the guardians to survive the Vault of Glass, after which he created Super Good Advice. This gun was meant to keep him company after the loss of Kabr and Praedyth in the Vault of Glass. Through the bounty, the frame for SGA can be found on Mars. From this, we know that Pahanin both had the ability to build guns and that he was sad about past losses. Here is where the Grimoire and other clues start to tie them together. In Thorn 1, it states:
A sadness crept from the depths of his being.
This sadness could have come from anywhere. We also know that Pahanin dealt with great sadness from the loss of his friends in the Vault. From SGA:
who witnessed the fall of Kabr and became terrified of traveling alone.
Not to mention the loss of Praedyth (although forgotten) and any other fireteam members not including Osiris. Again in Thorn 1:
Slowly the shadows' whisper became a voice, a dark call, offering glories enough to make even the brightest light wander.
Maybe this voice was enough to comfort Pahanin, who went as far as creating SGA to talk to him so he would never feel alone. Also, with Pahanin's proficiency in building guns, he could have built Rose as and aid during his ventures, which is why it would explain there being only one Rose. Another part of this theory relies on something pointed out by The Tree of Ruin. The Holborn Host found a ghost on Mars, and from the Thorn 3 Grimoire, we can assume that the ghost belonged to Dredgen Yor at some point, and that what happened in the Vault of Glass could be yet another part of the horrors the ghost saw. This also puts both Pahanin and Dredgen on Mars. This also can help to explain The Cloak of Dredgen Yor. It says that he ruled the Crucible until he murdered Pahanin. As seen in Thorn 3, the conversation between Dredgen Yor and his ghost, the ghost knew Dredgen Yor before he turned to the Darkenss and was trying to have him return to the light. The cloak leads us to believe that Dredgen and Pahanin are different people, but they don't have to be. Maybe his ghost was the final remainder of Pahanin, and the "murder" of Pahanin was Dredgen killing the ghost and ending any possibility of Pahanin returning. Finally, although a stretch, another supporting clue would be the bounty "A Light in The Dark." Many people believe the reason for void kills is to feed the darkness of the weapon. But maybe the Void is not directly linked to the darkness, as Titans, Warlocks, and (soon) Hunters will all be able to use Void and it is enhanced by their light. The reason for the crucible kills is partially due to Dredgen Yor's dominance in the Crucible, but the void kills could be because it requires a loadout similar to what you would bring into the Vault of Glass, a loadout that Pahanin may have used in the Vault, further connecting the two. Again, this is only my theory, but I believe it is possible Pahanin could have become Dredgen Yor. Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think of the theory or if you have seen any information contradicting this. Thanks! -hapticPM
