The Dark below dlc weapons and gear were higher than vanilla destiny. Only when House of wolves came out could you upgrade VoG gear ect. HoW gear is automatically higher level than previous stuff, to compensate for higher level activities. When the Taken King cones out, the new activities will be much higher levels and the gear that's coming out with the dlc will reflect that aswell.
A 365 weapon or light 42 armour piece will not be that effective with the new raid, strikes, later story missions ect. So obviously the new gear will be need to be better than anything currently available. Folk need to grow up and quit crying over a game. If you don't want your Fatebringer ect to be obsolete after almost a year of playing, then don't use it for the TTK quests or raid, it'll still be useful for all current activities which will still be accessible.

But when dark below came out we could upgrade our exotics
-
You could upgrade most exotics, remember Vex mythoclast max was 323 until HoW was released.
-
Your gonna counter my reasoning with the 1 gun that they didn't upgrade?
-
My point was you couldn't upgrade the entire VoG drop set. That was one of the biggest complaints from everyone once the Dark Below came out. People had spent months running VoG in order to try obtain Fatebringer, Praetorians foil and the Vex ect, yet once the dlc came out, everything else was at higher damage levels than these.

Edited by Dave---G-: 7/25/2015 9:45:57 AMBut my point is that they didn't leave you having out to dry without any upgrades they let you upgrade some weapons ie all exotics but the vex so for the new activities you could choose to take one weapon (as you can only equip one exotic) at the new max weapon level into battle with you until you aquires all new weapons at the new strength.
