This is the biggest waste of a post. Perhaps they should just give you everything so you don't have to work at it. Here's another answer to your topic. Take your Destiny disc out of the console and throw it away. This game isn't for you.

Game isn't for me...LOL! I had the Destiny platinum trophy and every exotic weapon and armor before HOW came out and my grimoire score is currently 670 more than yours, and yours is respectable...you have no idea what you are talking about! Bungie obviously made a mistake dropping this weapon and some people are just too ignorant to recognize that a raid should not be needed to upgrade your first legendary weapon...blamming idiots!
-
Who cares though? Really? Not sure why you're the voice of the new players? You should have so much ascendant energy you don't know what to do with it. Just tired of people wanting handouts in this game. Make it to 26, or have your team carry you through the raid and move on.
-
Here's the deal - I started a new player (not a new character) to do all of Destiny from the beginning solo (except for raids, e.g., not power-leveling by being carried by friends) after they announced the Triumph. I did this simply to show all the Day 1 whiners that the Triumph can be done starting right now, and I thought it would be nice to be able to play anonymously sometimes if I wanted. Then I got this gun, my first legendary with my new player, with no way to possibly upgrade it and I think that is a mistake; it's not like Bungie has not missed something before is it? This was not a problem when starting from the beginning because these materials were awarded at every public event and all my characters had more than enough before they even got a legendary weapon, as did everyone I know that played from the beginning. So I seriously am wondering how Bungie envisions new players will upgrade such weapons in the game as it stands today. My hunter is now level 28 and I did try the Daily Heroic yesterday solo. It was level 30 Awakening with Heroic and Lightswitch. My best primary weapon, a blue autorifle did 65 damage for a critical hit on the summoning witches at the end of the mission and everything in that room could kill me with one hit. It was just not possible to finish that mission alone at that level with the weapons I have! Please keep in mind that I got to Level 28 by doing all daily bounties and completing all three story lines and I still cannot complete a single damage upgrade on this gun! Some people think it reasonable to say find a group and do VOG at level 20 or have friends carry me through the Daily. If that is Bungie's answer, then so be it! Let them say that so that all people considering buying destiny moving forward understand that they cannot even upgrade their first legendary weapon without LFG; but I still think this gun should not have dropped this way... It is a reasonable question and I wish that someone from Bungie would address the matter!
-
If I am thinking of the correct kinds of guns, you don't need to have ascendants until the last 3 damage upgrades, unless the machine gun follows the new upgrade system where you need weapon parts glimmer and I guess ascendants in your case. I've only seen legendaries needing weapon parts glimmer and planetary materials, all of which are easy to get, but if this machine gun needs ascendants instead of planetary materials I agree with you that Bungie shouldn't force players to get carried through. It is semi-reasonable to make low levels play with blue guns until they get high enough that they can do VOG with friends and not get carried, almost guaranteeing some sort of ascendants, but not making you get carried in order to upgrade legendaries.
-
Yes, all upgrade circles are closed, but I need ascendant energy to fill the last three! Thank you very much for understanding the issue; I don't think it very complex, but man do people have trouble getting the point here...
-
Bungie has addressed the matter. In fact, Bungie has stated a way for you to go through the leveling process solo. The problem seems to be that it will take much longer than you want. I understand you want to be able to play the game solo, like you could in the beginning. What you should understand is that Destiny is and always has been tailored to group experiences. While soloing is possible for many activities, it is much less efficient. This is by design. Bungie wanted to craft a game that revolved around cooperative PvE and competitive PvP. We have established that Ascendant materials are very much attainable. The fact that they are not attainable the way you want is another issue, one suited for #feedback, not help. The lessened availability of Ascendant materials reflects the fact that all new weapons released with HoW do not require them. Yes, it is possible to still get gear that needs them, as you did. But this occurrence is rare enough that most places that require these mats for the gear also gives you those mats (VoG, Crota's End). You complain that you can't solo a daily heroic story. Bungie suggests taking time to purchase better gear from vendors. You don't like that because you feel it will take weeks. The problem is your inflexibility with taking the long route for gaining gear. This is not a technical issue. You can level your gear, even if you don't want to play with others. If you want faster leveling, you will likely need to find other played to assist you. There is nothing wrong with that.
-
Character leveling has nothing to do with this issue and I have made no comments about character leveling. My opinion is that it can be much easier now than it used to be if a player decides to take the shortcuts, but that does not mean they have to take shortcuts. As far as upgrading this particular legendary weapon, why would anyone do it the way you suggest when they can simply buy weapons that do not need ascendant energy. It is not a good weapon and cannot be rerolled anyway, but my point is that it does not fit into today's destiny unless there is another way to get the mats short of LFG, which nobody HAD to do previously in this game even if that is how they elected to do it. By the way, I got this weapon from a blue engram obtained during TDB story missions, so it is not accurate that these materials are available wherever such weapons drop. I will likely just delete the weapon at this point and go for weapons that don't need energy for upgrades, but I want to thank you for making a cogent and intelligent case, even if I disagree with your conclusions! It is refreshing to see someone in these forums that can actually communicate using the written word!

I hear what you're saying. I think you have entirely too much time on your hands to start a new player to run everything solo. It makes my cringe thinking about it. The grind is real and I want the new players to suffer since the 2.0 killed my weapons. We both know Bungie doesn't care about people doing anything by themselves in the game and won't respond. Again I think you're a little crazy for starting over. Nice k/d on the 28.
-
I have three 34s that have acquired everything the game has to offer me, but I will not purchase TTK unless Bungie fixes its PVP problems, so there is nothing more for those characters to do in this game that I love...another reason to start over... I am most looking forward to my first Fatebringer (4th actually), first Ghally (7th actually), and first Hawkmoon (5th actually) on my new players...

You've always needed ascendant materials for your legendary gear and it's not like you got legendary constantly since rewards were level based ie you got green rewards at like 10 in crucible instead of legendary. You've always needed vog/nightfall and daily heroic to get them with the latter being as time wasteful as public events since it's not a lot. And yes bungie intended to drop those because ppl still like old gear and the ability to get it while they don't pick and choose which character day 1 or new gets it that's RNG. And yes they intended drops to be how they are because ppl complained about getting ascendant mats and radiant mats way too often so they removed besides the vog obviously and daily heroic. Also if you wanted dismantle the gun and you got ascendant energy for your next one if you wanted. Because of your IGNORANCE, you lack foresight and because you're trying to do something doesn't mean everyone caters to you. Deal with it or bottle those tears for someone who cares because majority if not all understand this besides you.
-
Public events used to give ascendant materials to any level player that participated. If you needed to do VOG to upgrade your first legendary weapon it was only because you are a casual player. To suggest that new players need to dismantle their first nine legendary weapons to get enough ascendant energy (18) to upgrade their tenth legendary weapon is just stupid and reveals you for the fool you are; especially when ALL legendary weapons available for purchase do not require ascendant energy to upgrade. Really, just go away; please! Reading what you write just makes people dumber...
-
And relying on public events just to get enough materials for your first legendary is just as stupid. You were never guaranteed before and even if you got was never just energy rather shards and motes of light. You're just as stupid to think that it was the way players got them, even casual players know better than that. You're now officially in the special crayon box for your stupidity, try again.
-
If you didn't have enough ascendant energy and ascendant shards to upgrade a legendary weapon and armor before you were level 20, then you were a casual player or power-leveled by being carried by others. Either way, you remain clueless and continue to insist on demonstrating your ignorance. You really should "stop digging" now and try to leave your hole with some dignity; if you do not understand this, print it out and save it until you grow up and can understand it, or perhaps your mommy can explain it to you now using baby-talk...
-
I guess you are completely ignorant of many facts. Players did not and still do not farm public events for their materials. They did vog and got through nightfalls. Let me make sure you understand since you're really bad at playing this game. In order of best way to accumulate ascendant materials based on likelihood of getting them before HOW 1. Vog easy/hard 2. Daily heroic lvl 30 3. Nightfall 4. Dismantling other legendary gear (guns for energy armor for shards) 5. Public events Now post HOW remove nightfall and public events and you get the top 3. Lastly because of how special you are you never fully read first reply in which I've stated to your original question that it is intended and will not change then proceeded to explain why with many facts that you dislike. I promise you that players did not get 18 shards or however many it took to to max out 1 piece of gear before lvl 20 as you've stated. Most went the way of having uncommon then rare then either buying legendary gear with marks or getting lucky drops found friends along the way and did vog easy til they had full gear to be 29/30 then did vog hard. I guess you're just a garbage common player if it toon you this long to realize that and are lvl 20 with no friends to do vog with. You can't get moments of triumph as a completely solo player since you can't solo vog and really soloing lvl 35 Skolas is near impossible without burns. Anymore whippings you want to take or would you rather walk away licking your wounds because that must've hurt getting owned over and over again. Oh wait gave your mommy kiss your boo boo and tell you it's ok since your obviously 5 :) good day sir.
-
Perhaps you should read the entire thread before you chime-in again; or ask your mommy to read it to you since you have so much trouble understanding English. I made it this far in ONE WEEK playing solo with a completely new player! I have 3 level 34s under another player name with EVERYTHING in the game achieved, including the Destiny Platinum trophy. I have double your PVE kills and more than double your TOTAL playing time in this game, so again; stop digging...

Edited by Mr Important 01: 7/23/2015 8:01:38 PM
My level 20 got a legendary heavy machine gun that requires ascendant energy to upgrade, but there is no way for a level 20 to get the ascendant energy materials needed to upgrade the weapon in light of all the recent changes! Should legendary weapons that require ascendant energy to upgrade still be dropping in Destiny? If so, how is a level 20 supposed to get them?
Again I answered this. And also I'm not day one player so you having more time and kills doesn't surprise me. Furthermore outside of crucible I've beat the game already I just do crucible for grimoire when I get bored. So if it took you that long, you're bad. Furthermore you stated you wanted to show day 1 players it's still possible to get moments of triumph if you started now as a solo player. I've stated you can't because it's impossible since you need at minimal 3 for vog, and 2/3 for Poe 35. I'll leave you with this, I've stated and restated many times now answering your initial question and even proved with facts while also showing you what your goal was is impossible. Not only that but I've not seen or heard anyone say it's impossible to get moments before sept for new players. It can take roughly a month of above normal play to finish in a rough estimate or at least 2-3 weeks minimal so until then no one thinks that besides your imagination. Since understanding basic words try using Google to help you read and comprehend better it's probably better than whatever you're doing now and until you come up with something new, I'm done repeating myself over and over again while you just look like a fool to everyone that comes across a child's post. Ps, for you to have a maxed character u never prove it lol. I could say I have a maxed character on Xbox with maxed grimoire but until I show it then it doesn't matter. Stupid kid lol.

Edited by SteelCityBattler: 7/23/2015 8:12:57 PM
Furthermore outside of crucible I've beat the game already
According to Destinytracker.com you have not even finished the story missions EVER, or been to the Lighthouse...we know what you have been beating kid, and it wasn't Destiny... Please just go away you lying troll...
-
Edited by Mr Important 01: 7/23/2015 8:16:55 PMBad kid is bad. Lighthouse is crucible hence I rarely do crucible due to lagfest. And if your best thing is I've never beat all story missions you're reaching and you already know you're done. Cmon kid try harder it's sad.
-
You say you beat the game and you have not even played the base content... You call yourself Mr Important 1, keep dreaming kid, but not everyone can be whatever they want when they grow-up! Keep your chin up kid, the world will always need janitors! Please just go away you lying troll; you are not welcome here since you have not ever even "played" all of Destiny. Really, I don't care what you have to say troll!
-
Then enlighten me what have I not done outside some crucible ?
-
-
If you don't even know how to check your progress, then you should just kill your useless self...really...please go away, you are not wanted here you lying casual troll! Move along now kid, the grown-ups are bored with your rambling nonsensical BS!
-
Telling someone to kill themselves and if they do it is illegal and punishable by life in jail. And I've beat everything so I guess you can't read and that's why you can't say what I haven't done lol. FYI you going for personal attacks is sad because that's the last resort when one doesn't have anything left. You don't have a maxed character and you're a whining baby who can't do anything and just cries it's ok though you'll grow up past 5 one day
-
Perhaps you should look at the player to whom you are responding...blamming idiot
-
Oh btw did you ever break anyone's back being carried so much? Pve and pvp you're bad haha and you expected to do something alone how cute kid.
