This is probably the most concise and clear take away to relay to Bungie.
"If they had matchmaking you're most likely gonna get stomped"...My response...That's a possibility, but I'd rather have that option and... If I'm willing to take that risk, that should be my choice.
Destiny's been a fascinating roller coaster ever since launch. There's a lot of nifty stuff worth praising from the last expansion. There's also a good bit to critique.
There's just no justifiable reason to release a 5 mission 1 strike expansion and make the endgame expansion 90% unplayable without friends on.
You're right on the money with much of your post. High level matchmaking is Destiny's most recurring misstep, and it's been lacking since launch. We're past the second "expansion" and a skip and a jump from the next "large scale expansion." They've updated, fixed, broke, tweaked, squashed and added an impressive amount of stuff. However, the more they add high level content, the more we need matchmaking for it. The lack of choice for high level matchmaking is really starting to hold this game back. Maybe matchmaking is more difficult to overhaul than we know. That's fine. Tell us about it, and then tell us how it's getting overhauled anyway because we asked so nicely... pretty please. <3
