Guys.. we spend years crying about a community manager that doesn't interact with us as much as we hoped. And now the new one shows up and we swing around our "we r flud" e-dicks like a bunch of jackasses? Settle the -blam!- down, children. It's fun to pick on folks, but lets not let all this get carried away.
Try to remember that this guy is an 8 year member of Bnet and (I believe) founder of a very successful sub reddit. He's got a hell of a lot more tenure than most of you scrubs. So put the goddam pitchforks away until we have a reason to use them.
There's a difference between busting the new CM's balls and being a bunch of degenerates, folks. We're better than this.

I'm honestly more concerned with how everyone is acting more than I'm worried about Cozmo. Dude signed up to be this community's Co-manager, being the whipping boy kinda comes with the territory. But offtopic is my home. And I don't like it when the kids start acting out when we have company.
-
OffTopic is a temporary digital space that dies with its servers. Find a new home, this one isn't sturdy.
-
Metaphors, man. Fun stuff!
-
Well, either way, you know what this place is. Many of its participants are relatively new, and they see the "We R Flud!!" BS that the longer-standing population created themselves, and try to follow suit (with less wit, of course). This forum is what it was made to be, and it was made to be a place where stupid people could release their stupid tension, just like 90% of the other internet facilities. Idk why you try to push it back... It just is. People will always show their true colors with the freedom from responsibility that anonymity provides.
-
I push back because I haven't given up yet. Right or wrong, effective or futile. I believe the only way to see positive change is by openly voicing your concerns and representing the change you want to see. Even if it goes against the mentality of the masses. Believe it or not.. There's nothing wrong with mixing a little intelligence and maturity into our insanity. They don't have to be mutually exclusive concepts.

Fair enough of a point for me.
But offtopic is my home. And I don't like it when the kids start acting out when we have company.
"But daaaaaad he dresses funny!"
I feel bad for him since he's just being used as a shield to direct some of the hate from DeeJ and to be a distraction for the Desticles.
I'll have what she's having

This.

Can I bust out the pitchfork? He's not even Mythic.
-
Haha! You do make a compelling argument...
-
Nah, he'll be alright. The Flood's treating him like they treat any new person. He's just a big-name new person.
-
Agreed.
-
I guess most people/users just hate him without a reason. I haven't seen him do anything wrong and I expect him to be better than DeeJ.
but we r teh flud!!!
-
Hold on, Cozmo is the new community manager? Sorry I've been away for a week and I've obviously missed some major changes.
-
Yep. Now we have TWO community managers!!
-
I think the problem is a lot of new users have blind/uninformed, bandwagon hatred. They rip into the new community manager because they think it's the "cool" thing to do. Take hatred towards Deej for example. Older users had reasons why they were upset at him, while newer users had no idea why people were mad at him. The new guys just saw it as what the cool users did and attempted to mimic it and hopped on the bandwagon. Now they hate on the new CM because... They don't have a reason. It's just blind hate for no reason. As stated, they don't have a clue about much concerning the site and only tried mimicking older users and getting it pretty much wrong which is one of the reasons the site has kind of gone downhill.
