Pikes? Why?

Does anyone actually enjoy using them? I struggle to see the point? My sparrow is more nimble and if I need to shoot shit I just kinda, you know, get off and shoot shit....

  • I use one if it's there just to break the monotony. I don't think they are good or even particularly fun since they appear so rarely, it's just something different to do. I think they missed an opportunity for a high speed chase mission where it was necessary to drive and shoot. At least then the pikes could have more relevance than a sort of token addition or abandoned concept that was just never fully removed.

    • I was super excited about them in the alpha. I saw them once and thought I had witnessed something special. I finally murked the riders and climbed aboard one of the flaming but still patrol-worthy pikes. I blasted away enemies and drove that mack truck around until it expired. Many lulz were had. Finally the game came out, and I realized the horrid truth. I'd never get an armed sparrow of my own. The public events in which the Pikes appear were a curse because they netted no completion reward. And they were only put in the story to enjoy; once. Much disappointment was felt. Now I just ignore them completely.

    • I like going in the air and spamming the bumpers to do barrel rolls
