BL has a massive amount of gear, much easier to implement with the way they've crafted their game. The Exotics are acquired easily enough and level-capped that no market (to my knowledge) has ever been established. For example, I buy an Exotic from someone at L50, by the time I'm L55, I'm looking for a new gun.
