The legend of SmoggyPluto

(Original credit, goes to WedgedLamb, who posted this golden reply on http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/93312725/0/0 )
I've played with SmoggyPluto before, I'll tell you, that bro deserves it. He's always got his teammates back. He'll jump in there when your taking fire. Literally took multiple bullets for me. One time I lost my dog and he found it for me. He lent me money when I was behind on bills. Taught me how to change a tire. Honestly I can't think of anyone who deserves the gjallahorn more.
It made me laugh, as did the response to it. So I figured I'd post it so we could all share our stories of this legendary guardian. Smoggy, we salute you. Edit: Loving the response so far, keep them coming guardians. I wonder if/when Smoggy will see this? What would he say? Edit2: We are now trending. Edit3: These responses required archiving. • I remember my first encounter with the legend who is only known as Smoggy Pluto. I was a young Guardian, only level 6 or so, patrolling the Cosmodrome trying to get a grasp on the territory I had vowed to protect. I was making my way through the Divide when all of sudden a Devil Walker got dropped in along with a legion of fallen that no single guardian, 34 or not, could defeat. I looked around to see if there was any other Guardians who were around to assist, but I found myself being alone. Some may call it bravery, others may call it noobish stupidity, but I had no choice but to stand and attempt to defeat this abomination. The battle was long and I was nearly defeated many times. I hardly put a dent in their forces. At this time it dawned on me that I was fighting a losing battle. I was getting to orbit out but then a Fallen Captain appeared before me. His eyes, red and filled with hatred, were set on me. There was no time to orbit before the chase began. I tried to lose him by cutting through building and leaping rooftop to rooftop, but he was hot on my tail. All of a sudden I fell through a ceiling hole. There stood my foe. Then out of the shadows appeared other ranks of Fallen. Their weapons were charged and seconds from firing. I closed my eyes. This was it for me, I was surely doomed. I heard the shots ring off, but I felt no pain. I opened my eyes and I was untouched! I looked up and saw a purple light around me and all of the fallen in the room were reduced to nothing but ashes. I heard much more firing outside the room so I jetted back through the hole in which I had fallen through earlier. I gazed upon the battlefield only to see the impossible. This Guardian was sitting on the back of the Devil Walker, controlling it and shooting down the vast army of fallen who had invaded the Divide. I watched in awe as he sent the Fallen packing. By then end he walked up to me and placed his hand on my shoulder. He then spoke words that had reverberated with me since. "Go on YouTube and search Keyboard Cat. (Chuckle) I loved that little guy." A tear dripped down his face and he orbited. Behind he left his Gjallahorn with an inscription that read "Never Go Alone." Since my encounter with this legend, I have watched Keyboard Cat before every patrol and keep his Gjallahorn right by my side. I only hope to one day encounter Smoggy Pluto again so that I may show him how much I have grown since our first encounter and return to him his Gjallahorn.
