The thing is... The regular hand cannons were already fine. Pulse rifles were fine, autos needed a slight buff, shotguns maybe a slight spread adjustment... The big problem was time to kill of a select few exotic weapons. They really did nothing to change that. Thorn actually got buffed. You do one third of the old dot per application of mark of devourer but it now stacks 5 times. It will likely still two shot but the clincher is that a tiny dot will still keep your shield down. The last word may be harder to use now from the description but I'm betting it's going to be absolutely beastly to just hip fire it. Even stronger and more accurate than before. All they changed on Hawkmoon is made it so you don't get a triple stack of lucky procs and gave you more ammo. Hardly a nerf, what was it a 3000:1 chance of a triple proc anyway?

  • I'm pretty sure reducing the chance of triple proc to zero increases chance of double proc too, statistically, unless they muck around with that too?

  • I really don't get where they are coming from. Nerf in all hand cannons makes no sense. They are just pushing people to use nothing but scout rifles. That will be the only gun viable for a variety of ranges. I know some of the exotics needed to be tamed for sure, but I never found legendary hand cannons to be op or over used in crucible at all.

Yeah, I'm glad scout rifles won't just be weak/low impact hand cannons that don't aim as well as hand cannons anymore - they needed differentiation, but legendary hand cannons have never been an issue, that being said you can now choose to roll luck in the chamber, final round and either increased range or increased stability on a legendary hand cannon and make it suit your purposes like with AR I hope - stability for CQ and range increase to push you out to further distances of mid with more skill to hit those high damage edge of mid shots. That'd be fine I guess. I'm hoping hand cannons will still be worth something and not get wrecked constantly by ARs and SRs making them the perfect weapon to not use in any situation. Looks like PRs will struggle against ARs and SRs too. Guess we will see I'm Sept.
