Been here since day one. The vicious cycle of buffing and nerfing is real. Thorn used to be a pile of trash. Now its good. Now it's going to be garbage again. I don't even use Thorn but wow Bungie, make up your mind.

  • thorn was never trash, it was just difficult to use. It was always super powerful. Bad players just got mad that they couldn't spam bullets and then Bungie caves and gives it to them.

LOL seriously... Nobody used thorn until they first buffed it. It used to be complete trash. It used to have only 6 rounds in the cylinder. Apparently you don't remember. Or you weren't around then...

  • We could argue this all day, but the fact is Thorn was just as powerful then as it is now. The only difference was a 5 round mag and slow reload time. Personally I preferred the weapon that way because it forced the user to think about how and when to engage enemies, as well as where to drop to cover when it was time to reload. Skilled users capitalized on Thorn back in the day because it was a silent killer. Now, scrubs across the globe are just spamming rounds downrange and hoping for the burn to get them an assist or two, because bungie announced a buff that made it incredibly easy to use. No longer a weapon to be feared, but an annoyance in the Crucible.
