This along with the Gjallarhorn and Icebreaker nerfs and the removal of burns on skolas is just a continuation of bungie trying to make you less lazy guardian. Are you not bored of just sitting on a pipe firing non-stop at a tank? Or standing anywhere and constantly staggering a boss until he melts? Bungie want us to actually have to do at least a bit of the fight going on, which is a good thing.

I honestly hope the Icebreaker nerf stops everyone cheesing the bridge section of crota. Seriously guardians we're lvl 34 (well a lot of you) and it's not that hard, it's much more fun and can be done just as fast as most cheese runs take.
How would the Icebreaker nerf stop the Crota bridge skip?? I'm go over and handle everything with my Black Hammer/Gjallarhorn. I don't hide behind a -blam!-ing lamp, not even on "Hard Mode"
-
Yeah were talking about different cheese methods, at least yours actually requires somebody to go the other side but I would still prefer to do it legit and that's not what most groups do, most groups send one person over who hides, while the rest climb tower or suicide and self rez and then slowly pick off stuff with icebreakers, slowing it's regeneration will make this an even longer task to do which means that maybe just maybe people will bother to actually try to get more people over the -blam!-ing bridge!!! It's not hard. Like you said you can do it solo, so a group of guardians should be able to do it, but because their all too used to cheesing everything nobody ever wants to. I think since hard mode dropped I've done bridge legit 3 times maybe? 2 of those times were after HoW dropped and everyone gets to a higher level and it is really easy now. But typically groups I find do the abyss, then the fireteam leader will start to talk about who's doing what in the cheese at the bridge, I suggest doing it legit, nobody says anything, I say it takes just as long as being lazy and cheesing and everyone just carries on and does cheese anyway. I suicide because I don't want to help with what is now one of the most pointless cheeses in the game and come on the forums to keep myself occupied.
-
Ah I see what you're saying. In those videos I was a 31, now as a 34, even on Hard Mode I use my method. Just have the rest of the team wipe because, quite honestly, most of the people I play CE with aren't to good. I also have everything the raid has to offer so I skip the abyss & bridge just to make things faster. Then I solo deathsingers, run sword and just rely on them to rocket Crota.
-
That's all good that you can do that but seriously you would be doing the whole community a favour by taking guardians through and instead of soloing it, show them that they are capable of doing it as well. We need to try stop the laziness not encourage it!! How will we defeat the darkness with a bunch of guardians who are only good at hiding and sniping?
-
You can also see in my videos; I don't hide & snipe.
-
That's why I was suggesting for you to help our guardians out and show them how to do it properly rather than hiding and sniping

Edited by Timmie: 7/17/2015 1:10:59 PMWell, come 10.27 I'm out anyways. Crota is dead, Oryx is coming and you guys can deal with him, I'll be playing as 1 of the 8 characters in H5. When I found out TTK was coming out a month before Halo 5, I decided to not even bother getting TTK. All my friends say "Whatever! You'll come back!" But I really won't, has nothing to do with the price tag, or lack of current content, or the newly announced Weapon "Balance". I've just always enjoyed Halo and Destiny is filling my time until H5 Plus; if it's someone first time, and they WANT to know; I'll explain it to them.
-
Fair enough, shame to lose you guardian. I'll be going to halo and fallout but won't be stopping playing destiny completely.
-
Same for me.
-
That's your opinion. However I think Bungie is stepping on our feet. Forcing us to play how they think we should play. If players want to cheese, let them. If players want to stand back and eradicate everything with IB, well more power to them. I just think Bungie is over stepping their boundaries.
-
So you want bungie to let people glitch the encounter to get easy loot?
-
Id prefer to do it the easy time efficient way after completing the activity 20+ times...
-
I would say about 50% of the time, probably more, the cheesy method is not time efficient, in fact it will take longer, it just takes away any sort of risk of you dying.
-
3:49 is not shorter than building a bridge 6 times. You're crazy. https://youtu.be/tmiYL3ahAY8
-
Edited by i TM4n: 7/17/2015 12:17:12 PM3:49 is definitely not the average time I'm spending waiting for people to try climb on top of a tower let alone the rest of the time slowly sniping things waiting for ogres to come out. In that time you can easily get all 6 or most of the group across and kill ogres. Plus with the icebreaker nerf that's going to take even longer after September so maybe people should start practicing doing it legit?
-
Bad team mates, hell, when I recorded that video I had SHIT weapons. I can do it even faster now. Even climbing the tower; it only took me 4:33 https://youtu.be/QFZ_qkEz0mY
-
Landing 20+ crits with the BH is definitely time effective. Makes a boss fight go from 10 min to less than 5 at times. :P
-
Edited by i TM4n: 7/17/2015 12:06:50 PMAnd you will still be able to do that, you will just have to get out of your cheese spot, kill some enemies, pick up some ammo and then carry on shooting. Or does that sound like too much hard work for you?
-
Lately my boss fight strategies have been to shotgun them in the face, cause it was more fun. Unfortunately they have nerfed THAT style of play as well, but reducing damage of shotguns and increasing drop off of some of them. (Good change for pvp. BAAAAADDDD change for pve. Lotsa risk getting up close and personal in a nightfall with Lightswitch, a bit less reward now. )
-
Yus, way to much hard work. ;) In all honesty, I'm ok with them TRYING to get us to not use cheese spots, but I wish it could have been done without them taking a really cool perk away from a gun.
-
Yeah it's a shame but I really don't think it's that much of an issue when it works exactly the same you just need to pick up some ammo or use a special ammo synth. Or wait a bit longer if using icebreaker. But I think it's a better and easier fix for them than adding loads of extra kill boxes and blocking hiding spots in every area you fight a boss, mini boss or tank. I'm the same, love using lord of wolves on bosses, even been mid-air shoulder charging bosses (and spider tanks, I'm still a bit scared to try it on cabal tank) with the peregrine greaves on just for fun, or just running around killing the ads because nobody else seems interested in doing that and solely want to stand in the corner spamming black hammer. Because like I said I do it for fun, I don't find staring down a sniper scope fun.
-
yup, it all depends on my mood that day.
-
But I'm max level with max weapons. I should feel OP.
-
Not that OP and like I said it encourages lazy game play, the end game and even mid-tier (is that a thing) content should not be dominated by walk into room, pop bubble, walk in and out of bubble shooting rockets or walk into open space, find spot can't get shot easily, unload infinite sniper rounds into target
then again I also gave up on using the loot cave after like 20 minutes because it was soooo boring so I have a different outlook on playing a game than some people
That's smart, efficient, effective. The challenge IS to do raids efficiently with less party members dying. And believe me Crota is STILL a challenge with the yet un-fixed bugs.
