• Not at all, I own my own business & have 2 trucks. I make about 4000 - 5000 a week. My other truck sites about the same.

  • Nope, containers containing normal things like alcohol, gravel or paper. Tho flatbed would pay way more. Trucking jobs are hard to fill up, so they'll pay a lot for it because not everyone can do it

Well starts with getting a cdl, depending on your area the schooling might cost about $4000 - 6000 & take about 2 months to complete. After that most companies won't hire you without experience, so you'll start off with a job that will pay less than what I'm making now. If you're a owner operator ( you own your own semi) then you'll be paid more, but it's about having the experience. I own my dad's company, so I had a reference & was hired in the spot at a place that paid well. It also depends what kind you're find, long haul well pay more than local things, bit you're basically living out of your truck. Also flatbeds & oversized loads will pay way for than what I'm making now. You just do a bit more work

Eh it's like any job really, to get into the better paying job you gotta have experience. Some company's even accept you after having 6 months experience, just depends on your area. It also depends on if you can take that much time without a job. The school is usually everyday for most of the day. Most people just can't afford it, but it's definitely worth it. Also it depends which type you do. I do containers, so no work really goes into it other that cranking up the container legs. Flatbed will pay more but you gotta do more work, like strapping down & securing the load. The more work that you do, the more you get paid
and thank you :)
• Man id be fine with what you're doing XD 200,000 is a lot. This is the first time I've heard of truck drivers getting this much. Do you travel places to places, and not get a lot of sleep? That's mainly what I've heard about truck driving.

  • I haven't mustered up the courage to do long haul yet. I'm local & the farthest I travel is to Oregon which is 5 - 6 hours away. It honestly depends in you, the reason I make a lot is because I have 2 semis working. On average a trucker can make between $70000 - 100000 but that's still really good money. That pans out to be around 2000 - 3000 a week, just depends how much you want to work. Right now I'm working about 70 - 75 hours a week, but I feel rested & not tied at all. Out wasn't always like this, truckers use to make way less than this, but because a lot of people can't afford to do it, there's a higher demand & they're willing to pay more.

  • Wow thanks for the answers, really helped :p I just want a job like yours where you get good pay and don't have to try to learn to do it for like 10 years.

  • No problem, if you have any more questions, let me know. In my opinion schooling is a waste of time & money. You can get really good jobs without college. You just have to have knowledge on how to

  • Yeah all I ever seen when people go into lines of work like that where you have to study for many years they just end up wasting a lot of money and end up getting an average pay job in that line of work. I've always wanted to try and go into engineering or being a pilot :p then I heard there were lots of lay off for pilots and didn't really want to pursue that anymore and going under engineering relating planes and stuff take way to long and my parents want me to be a doctor -____- which I just don't even want to think about lol
