No recoil. I'll try to say as understandable as possible: -Photons contain no mass. Bullets do. -The recoil in a gun is caused by a force:an opposite and equal force (All forces have an opposite and equal reaction) of the bullet leaving the chamber. -So what you can conclude, is if photons have no mass, there won't be any recoil, because there is no mass to be exerted. I hope this helped. My dream one day is to be an astrophysicist, so yeah ask me anything.

  • correction there would be negligible recoil

  • On the Laser Weapon? If so yeah, no matter what way you propel the "Projectile" there is going to be some, most likely little recoil with liitle kickback, but controlling it is no problem. There will always be at least a little recoil, no acceptions, unless you had some counterbalance or countermeasure for the recoil

  • I was correcting my statement not yours and i always thought it was the bullet that caused the recoil until a couple weeks ago... I lost that argument lol

  • Now that I'm awake, I can actually think straight now: The bullet causes the "kickback," for example, you shoot a rifle, and upon the shooting, the stock burrows into your shoulder. That is kickback, which is caused by the bullet and the explosion. The force of the gun being pushed upward is the explosion and nothing else. Just to clarify

  • the recoil in a gun is not caused by the mass of the bullet but the "explosion" that causes the bullet to be shot. while i agree there would be no recoil your reasoning is incorrect. the force of the "explosion" (for lack of a better term) exerts force in all directions.

  • Oh sorry man thats a typo. It's 1:40 am right now so I should probably go to bed. I meant to say explosion the bullet caries little to none effect on the recoil.
