In 1973, abortion was outlawed in 30 states. This didn't stop people from getting abortions. Instead, people would get underground illegal abortions, which were dangerous. The death rate among young women went way up. So in short, abortions would happen either way, so we may as well have them funded to be safe instead of a deadly underground abortion process.
Whether or not it's moral, that's a debate for another day [b][i][u]that I don't want to get into.[/u][/i][/b] I'm just saying that it's happened before, and would most likely have the same results if it happened today.
