I think it's fine and I live in the UK.

 • A lot of us disagree with you.

 • And that's okay, I just think because of the way the world works, this price is the norm for us in the UK.

 • What? The previous DLC's were £20 each or £35 if you bought both. If you think £40 is reasonable for an expansion you're in the minority.

 • They pegged this as Destiny's first major expansion. The size of this game will apparently have twice as much content as the House of Wolves, we are receiving at least 2 new locations to begin with (Phobos and the Dreadnought) as well as what has been reported as a vastly improved and new campaign, new strikes and a raid. I dunno, I just think if it's twice as much content, you can expect twice the price.

 • Twice as much content! When you think about it the House of Wolves didn't exactly have a great deal of content to begin with. You have to remember they didn't include a new raid, instead chose to hold it back to use it as a selling point for the new DLC. For me that's pretty cheeky. I understand them delaying it if it was to iron out the glitches, god knows I don't want another broken Raid as Crota was so broken it was unreal. But I don't think they should be wrapping that in as part of the package and expect us to be grateful when it's something we should have had in the first place. I may well be wrong, maybe TTK will be fantastic with tons of new content and things to do / acquire but I'm not holding my breath.

 • If the new raid is on the Dreadnought I don't see how they could have included it in HoW. No one knows if there is a HoW raid that has been held back. All we know is that at some point, Bungie made a decision to not make a raid for HoW release and instead to release one later in the year. If we follow this timeline then we can put two and two together and work out that the raid they have been working on is TTK's new raid.

 • How so? CoD maps were same price across the board for example.

 • For how many maps?

 • Regardless of the maps or the price, the point is that they were the same price in every country.

 • Then that happened to be an exception I guess, or a marketing ploy, who knows. All I know is that the average consumer prices in the UK are almost 20% higher than the U.S., there isn't much to be done about it and so I'm okay with it.

 • It's not an exception. Another example, fallout 4 is $60, and here it's £40. List is endless. This is the first time i've seen $40 equivalent to £40.

 • Yep 20% would be fine. Like you said that's fairly normal. TTK is over 50% more. That's the problem.

 • He's right it is over 50% more expensive here than in the US. US is $40 and in the UK it is the equivalent of $63. This is the whole point of this thread and why UK and other countries are not happy

 • I had a post elsewhere detailing how the price can be broken down, but it's due to Tax here. As far as I am aware, electronic goods are still subject to VAT, so if you work it out as follows. TTK RRP $40, this works out (at the current rate) as £25.62. Add on our adjusted price which is on average 20%, and the price rices to £30.74. If you then add on VAT, our final figure is £36.88. Don't forget that the 20% price increase based on our consumer prices is an AVERAGE price, so it can vary.

 • But it doesn't apply to other digital games. TTK is way overpriced relative to the usual US / UK differences. All those factors you mention should apply to other games if that was the case.

 • They do, but at the end of the day it's also down to retailers adjusting their own prices.

 • Recent example. The Arkham knight season pass is $40 on US PSN same as TTK. It's £33 on uk PSN. So same retailer, same format. Both published by a US company. This is where the problem lies. TTK is clearly overpriced for no apparent reason.
