This is another example of Bungie telling us what we can and can't enjoy in our gameplay. I'll never get bored with Fatebringer ... period. I don't care if Bungie thinks it's boring. I like it. It's my favorite weapon and I don't want to lose it.
One of the stated reasons for the auto rifle nerf was that Bungie wanted people to use pulse rifles. They just up and decided that we had to use what they wanted.
This is another example. They have decided that they want us to use new weapons, so they are going to allow the current ones to fade into oblivion.
Pretty totalitarian way to run things, if you ask me ...

This is exactly the issue I ran into with World of Warcraft. Blizzard/Activision would play flavor of the month with certain classes/specs and everyone would burn time trying to level/gear said class. Then it would get nerfed and another class would become god. In effect this worked because it kept people playing and grinding. I fear this same trend has been seen in Destiny. Bungie doesn't care about balance across the board. The pistol/shotgun combos shows you that. I'll bet they'll get nerfed and it'll be auto rifles/fusions next, or some other previously crap weaponry. Personally, I think this is stupid. All I want is balance so that people who prefer a certain weapon type can use it and not be forced into a weapon based on viability.

Spot on. Example, I turn on Thorn in IB (365) and get near 2.0 K/D 3 or 4 matches straight. Switch to a non exotic 365 fun, and negative K/D ration for every match (10 or so) and w/ Positive in there somewhere. Bungie says "you have to use last word or Thorn to win". Then it's game over.
