They are in a political alliance[/spoiler] [i]District Info:[/i] [spoiler] District 1: The Inner Sanctum[/i][/b] The inner sanctum is roughly a hundred miles in diameter and houses the majority of the government inside the Golden Palace (an incredibly large and intricate building) The inner sanctum is the most fortified region of Terra - it is even shielded from orbital bombardment with massive energy shields that are generated by a geothermal power plant that lies deep within the planet. The great river runs through the middle of the sanctum and is visible from the Golden Palace [b][i]District 2 - 10: The Northern Sector[/i][/b] The northern sector is made up of universities and research facilities that drive the advancement of technology and military evolution. The residence of this sector are known for being brilliant scientists. They are responsible for all the R&D. [b][i]District 11-20: The Western Sector[/i][/b] This sector is made up of the military academies and training facilities. Once regular soldiers are trained to a certain point, they are shipped up to the northern sector where they are genetically modified into Legionnaires (huge 8ft tall super soldiers encased in power armor - the most deadly force in the galaxy) then shipped back to the western sector. [b][i]District 21-30: The Eastern Sector[/i][/b] This sector is responsible for the economy of Terra. The majority of the citizens here are rich and known for their greed and cut throat business practices. [b][i]District 31-40: The Southern Sector[/i][/b] This sector is made up of the planetary council. They are responsible for off world relations and the expansion of the imperium of man. The residences of this sector are known for their diplomatic nature. [b][i]All of the 40 Districts are surrounded by three massive walls known as the exclusion zone. This separates the innermost sectors of from the rest of the golden city. Commoners commute through the exclusion zone daily to go to work within the 40 main districts, but only a select few are permeated entry into the inner sanctum[/spoiler] Government and Political Party Info:[/i] [spoiler] [i]The Terran Government is housed within the Golden Palace in District 1: The inner Sanctum (see the golden city link for details of D1)[/i] There are 107 districts within the golden city, each has 2 Senators that govern that sector. Of the 2 Senators, there is a primary and a secondary. The primary Senator of each district deals with the main issues while the secondary deals with the less important issues. They work together as a team. In addition, they are representatives of the people in which they govern and are chosen from among the people. A term in the senate is 10 years. The primary senator of District 1 is the most powerful senator. He or she is known as The Lord Protector. The secondary senator of District 1 is known as the Vice Protector. Together, they make up the executive branch while the rest of the senate make up the legislative branch. The judicial branch is made up of the highest military ranked personnel such as Libreous-Tibrarium and others. Important Information below *26 years has passed since the near collapse of the Golden City, and in that relative time of peace, the Cult of Armageddon has gained much influence and power. It has infiltrated nearly every district and poisoned the minds of the citizens. Most have no idea that the cult even exists - they believe that it died along with Armageddon several years ago, but they are sadly mistaken* *It is now a time of economic expansion. Several new worlds have been acquired by the imperium and each world is up for colonization and control - there is much money to be made. The senators fight for control of the worlds and their resources.. It has become a political war of factions. The cult has infiltrated both factions* *Many of the Senators of the Golden City are deeply corrupted.. But most are just pawns in a much larger game of chess and have no clue that they are simply doing the bidding of the cult. The Senators meet every night in one of two special interest Lodges, or clubs. The Lodges are essentially where the Senators go to spend time conversing and plotting* *There are two factions: The Imperists (imps for short) and the Repliests (reps for short) each has it's own lodge. The Majority of the northern and western sectors are Imperists - who are more war like and are constantly pushing for violent takeovers of other worlds and economies. The Repliests are mainly composed of those that reside in the southern and eastern sectors of the city - they push for diplomatic takeovers of other worlds and economies* *Whoever is in control of more planets is the most powerful, and with the power comes the riches, however, money is the last thing that the cult worried about..
