Sorry but not having the same opinion as the collective of the pitchforkers that think they make up the destiny community is unneeded around here. We need more people to try and burn everything around them that they feel does not meet their personal standards.

You're forgetting that even if you want to spend $40, the people in outrage are still helping you and in no way making this worse for you. Their criticisms are protecting and fighting for fairness, not just for them, but for all of us. I'm probably going to buy the dlc, and I'll thank every single "pitchforker"
-
Unless the company decided to just drop the project and make a different IP, or decide some other action that does affect me. Just like with Tekken 7, people got pitchforky and now a character or two, don't exactly remember, are being cut from an entire market now. While I don't see Bungie doing that you never know. Just because you have the option to voice a opinion doesn't always mean you should.
-
Sorry, can you explain that tekken situation?

Edited by PizzaMan725: 6/25/2015 6:02:21 PMYeah no problem. While they were working on character development on the new ones for that game had been leaked before they were ready to announce it. It was animeish, a big boobed blonde woman in a cat suit don't remember the other one, not really a big surprise considering the franchise. Well lots of people that I'm guessing were from outside of Asia started to get seriously butthurt over it. Well the director of the game saw the posts and made a announcement that these characters would not be released outside of the Asian market. He also posted some funny remarks generalizing people.

Wow... Terrible damage control on their end

Edited by PizzaMan725: 6/25/2015 6:05:58 PMI thought it was very well done. If people are really displeased with something, why give it to them? It may not represent the entire group that like the game but hey, this is their livelihood and passion. I've seen people get upset when others don't appreciate their work. Why are videogames any different? It's their passion and they put lots of work into even if their consumers don't know it.

Because unfortunately their is a middleman. Bungie makes a good scapegoat in this situation, because people want to blame bungie yet bungie is legally bound to defend their publisher from scrutiny. They pay their salary. But, particularly in this situation, the issue is pricing. I think the community could have some leverage with this.
-
What leverage? You either get it or you don't, that's gamers only leverage. People feel prices should only be set low because they feel this isn't worth it. Well the prices are set to make back the invested money and return a profit. So they can give bonuses and other quality of life items to the development teams that pound the ground every day to give us the game.
-
These people should be making money. I completely agree with you. Although, a fraction of that money is actually going to bungie. If you read the weekly update, you'll see Deej said himself that the consumers are right about price issues.
-
I believe he was talking about the foreign price that doesn't exactly meet up to the U.S. price, but I may be wrong. This issue happened with the relief effort awhile back and Bungie was able to get it fixed. But really what people are paying is market value in the states. The distribution companies decide what to set the price at after the publisher sells them the copies. I don't think we'll see a change to any U.S. prices. Also this expansion is an actual expansion, not a DLC like TDB or HoW. The download size is 40GB, hopefully they didn't listen to everyone's whining about the story and add a ton of pretty cutscenes. Where I think both DLCs only come to about 5GB. This could have been a standalone title with it's own disk, but I guess they decided to save some cost and make it digital only. But this is just how I see it, I may be 100% wrong but it's my opinion on it.
-
40gb? Is that confirmed?
-
It's what was on the preorder last I checked, it may have changed but that is what I saw.
-
Then you mightve convinced me.
-
Just stating facts. I never was trying to change your opinion, but glad I could at least tell you something you didn't know. I always try to have all the information I can, so I can help others out that might not know.
-
Indeed.
