Some of us operate on principle. $20 for HoW wasn't outrageous of a price tag had the content been there. But I didn't buy HoW because they lied to us and said a raid was coming. Fast forward to today and it's been nothing but more fumbling and more half measures to save face. I feel like Bungie has taken a page out of Dan Snyder's Washington Redskins on "how not to run a business but get rich in the process." To think a price reduction of DLC versus value versus content offered in the package etc solves what's wrong right now at Bungie is not giving attention to the biggest thing that's wrong: Bungie not being actively engaged with the community. It's retroactive community management as opposed to proactive community involvement.

  • When did they lie about the raid? Where does it say or when did they say a raid would come with every expansion? The fault is your own if you simply assumed that HoW would come with a raid because TDB did. Also, these are COSMETIC items that do not change your game experience what so ever. A skin for a champion in LoL is 10-15 dollars. That's a SKIN for a single character. A mount in WoW can cost anywhere up to 25 dollars! Call of duty and counter strike weapon skins can cost up to 5 dollars! Cosmetic micro transactions are nothing new in gaming. Especially investment games like destiny. And the whole point around these items are the fact that they are supposed to be for collections purposes. Hence the name "collectors edition" People pay money for these things because it's worth something to them. Clearly you do not think it is worth how much it costs, so I don't know what else to tell you then don't buy it. Bungie doesn't owe you squat.. It's their game to be honest. But they are giving us year one players something exclusive.. Which is ALSO cosmetic, AND cannot be purchased. Shouldn't that be more valued? Shouldn't your time over the past 10 months playing this game count for something? You got to play all the content when it was relevant. Before people knew how to beat the raids in 15 minutes. Before quality of life choices were made. No one is making you pay for these extras. Datto said it best, a Filet Mignon steak costs as much as 5-6 boxes of Cereal, on a value stand point the cereal will feed you for much longer and there for is a better deal. On be other hand, steak is -blam!-ing delicious. So the choice is yours man. These items aren't priced for value. You think any video game now adays is WORTH 60 bucks? Hell no, the amount of investment and time and money that goes into any game. An indie game. Could easily sell for 100 dollars. But they make it accessible because devs want people to PLAY the game. You're not playing dance emotes or playing hunter cloaks. Those things are there for market and to make you feel like a special snow flake. Choice is yours man.
