How do you feel about the price of TTK DLC being £40 = $62.79 I simply cannot understand it. Why do we have to pay an extra $22.79 for a digital download?!
$40 = £25.55, add the 20℅ VAT the UK pays, and you are at £30.66 Not £40.
They have valued TTK at $40, not the price of a full game which is $60. Yet over here in the UK its valued at £40, which is the price of a full game. (Fallout 4 will be £42)
I bought Destiny brand new at release for £41.99, now they want £40 for TTK. It doesn't have as much content as vanilla Destiny did, so how can they charge the same price?
I know there any many more currencies affected, I'm just using it as its my currency.
Another point to make is, the day TTK was announced for purchase on the Xbox store it was £27.99 ($43.53) After 24 hours they bumped it to £40.
Can we at least get some answers please Bungie/Activision?
Thanks for reading, Remo.

2 RepliesIs there a standalone edition coming out or just the legendary edition?
-
3 RepliesTL:DR, but this issue has been brought up. Basically, its an American company, so your price is based on their currency. It sucks but thats the way it is.

2 RepliesEdited by Animefreak0: 8/16/2015 10:15:57 PMBut in the same sense earning 5$ per hour is the same and 5£ an hour..since your not traveling between countries it doesn't effect you at all
-
15 RepliesBlame your country for the price difference not bungie

It be nice if Deej's only explanation in the weekly update wasn't "I don't understand foreign tax stuff." Instead of taking 5 minutes to walk across the office to someone in accounting, and trying to have them explain it... Even if they can't because it's some activision nonsense...this would show that Deej tried instead of he just couldn't be bothered.

Heard the bundle is actually only a bit more expensive than TTK itself. Why not just buy the bundle?
-
6 RepliesJust don't buy it I'm not paying $20 more than another guy there's no tax on digital content. So dose not warrent the extra cash. Evrybody should pay the same price for the same content. The only way to get heard though is with your cash. So just don't get it buy a new game I will be.

2 RepliesIm so happy they are Charging you people extra. Whats 40 quid? Zero shit given.
-
I preordered I'm not fussed I like the way destiny gameplay seems to be going plus not much else out this year I want (only fallout)
-
Do yourself a favor: Don't buy it. Put your money into an IP that supports its content beyond the point of sale. Spend your money on games that work towards parity and offer fixes for known bugs in less than a year's time.

22 Repliesif u dont like it then go play a british game this is their game they can make the price what ever the -blam!- they want
-
I think it has to do with publishing fees in certain countries
-
Activision are turning a blind eye to this so -blam!- them , no wonder people torrent games because when the price isn't fair
-
All economics aside this pricing is the most retarded thing ive ever seen and the only people who dont do currency compensation of some sort.for example look at gamestop usa http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-Destiny+The+Taken+King+Legendary+Edition uk https://www.gamestop.co.uk/SearchResult/QuickSearch?q=Destiny%3A+The+Taken+King+Legendary+Edition quite clearly taking currency differences into account bungie please take note
-
Do what I did and I've posted it elsewhere here. Using voucher codes and quidco etc I managed to get destiny taken king legendary edition down o £32, still more than the exchange rate but a much better price.
-
I'm sure it has to do with something we don't understand. So just relax and either buy it or don't. Not buying it will only help your point be proven.

89 RepliesI don't know what it is with the britts and aussies not understanding economics. English minimum wage - $10.48 per hr American minimum wage - $7.25 per hr That's approximately a 31% difference 31% of 40 is 12. 40+12=$52 leaving $10 for profit, taxes, regulations etc..... Aussies minimum wage is $17.28 per hr. Do the math from there

The legendary edition of the game is cheaper than the dlc btw £36.85 to be exact it may be even cheaper in places but that is the chepest ive found

I've played this game for 1200 hours plus, I think, somewhere around there. I played the alpha onwards. I bought the pack with the coin and the booklets and all the extras! Yes it's to expensive. Yes I already have most of the stuff. I wish bungie would be aware of the over price and make it cheaper. Maybe I'll get a refund of some sort. Doubt it. I spent all this time playing it because it's very, very good! With all the problems it has, it's still far better than most games I've played, I've played a lot! I want the extra's. Why would I keep playing if I didn't enjoy so much! Hopefully TTK is worth it as so will the next dlc! I love it, and will continue to play and support it until something better comes along! It will probably be a long wait!

They can charge whatever they want, it's not a charity and as long as people are buying it then it works. When people stop buying it then I bet you see the price drop. simple as that. Why people feel a game it's owed to them makes no sense to me. When demand dries up than prices fall

I'm Ps3 I have to buy a hoke new disc for 60.
-
5 RepliesAs much as I feel your pain (like I know, it's ridiculous) but this isn't Bungie or Activision's fault. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't this been the case all this time?
-
Just buy another game with actual story

7 RepliesFrom 1 January 2015 there are new place of supply rules for value added tax (VAT) on the supply of digital services by businesses to consumers in the EU. VAT on digital services will be paid in the consumer’s country, not the supplier’s country. It will be charged at the rate that applies in the consumer’s country.

International trade laws and stuff like that.
