Had this passed along to me and I agree 100%
This July 7th, we should all observe a moment of silence by not logging on to Destiny in honor of the company Bungie used to be and to protest the Activision lackeys they've become.
Tell Bungie how you feel on their day.
----Edit----
I don't want the message to get lost that we're doing this because we love Destiny, we're just tired of Bungie sabotaging it at every turn. We're tired of the patronizing talk and the lack of real communication or action.
Here is a post by@guardian79 with a list of player submitted questions for DeeJ that reflects a number of pressing player concerns that Bungie refuse to acknowledge other than give a cursory "we'll talk later". Well that isn't good enough and until Bungie join these conversations and invest themselves in the community, I for one refuse to celebrate them on their day.

Weekly fluff updates don't cut it when the "community manager" never interacts with the community. DeeJ should live on these forums and yet he commented in a total of 6 threads last month. Between his almost total non-presence here and his one barely played character, it's no wonder they are so out of touch with this community.
Beyond that, if you want any other reasons to not log on, do it for Marty (who they fired), Joe (who they chased off and who's dream they dismantled) and all the others who are gone that used to make Bungie great.
It's time to send a message and it's time to be heard.

3 RepliesIf you do this, make reasonable demands, clearly state them, and don't bury your valid arguments under a wall of exposition. While a agree that something is wrong with destiny, I am not sure what you hope to gain aside from the price issue. What are your parameters for victory? Your matchmaking arguments were much clearer/better. Add matchmaking...simple. This argument seems a bit convoluted and emotional.

This July 7th, we should all observe a moment of silence by not logging on to Destiny in honor of the company Bungie used to be and to protest the Activision lackeys they've become
IMO I think Activision is the one to blame for everything. While developers make the game, publishers are the ones who pretty much have final say in what content is in the game because they're the ones distributing it. Here's an example: Say you develop a game that has poor overall quality, even after alpha and beta tests, there's no publisher in the world that would be dumb enough to risk losing profit on a game that's clearly gonna fail. Now, say you develop a game with top notch quality in every aspect, but is riddled with bugs, the publisher is going to want you to squash those bugs before they decide to release the game. Now, say you you develop a game with an engaging story worthy of an oscar, but there are some highly controversial themes in the game, the publisher may ask you to tweak the story a little bit and/or remove controversial themes to avoid any unwanted negative publicity. Here's what I'm getting at: Now, say you develop this amazing game with fantastic gameplay, engaging story and deep lore, but the publisher you pitched the game to wants you to heavily modify the story, potentially catering to a younger demographic, and lowering the ESRB rating. You are happy with the way your game is and decide that you want to find a different publisher who would possibly be on the same page as you, but the first publisher offers you a ridiculous amount of money for marketing and hype factor, whilst the publisher is secretly taking your ideas, going to another dev and trying to implement them into one of their more popular titles. In other words, think of how destiny was originally supposed to be, then within the last year of development there was a large redesign in the game and all of a sudden a half million dollar marketing campaign. Now, one year later, the next COD is coming out with some surprisingly familiar mechanics and special abilities (a OHK revolver, an AOE smash, a bow, short range "teleporting", just to name a few). I think Activision is just using Bungie and Destiny as a scapegoat so they can ensure the future of their precious Call of Duty, which, after seeing the multilayer trailer, I have to say, I'm not impressed. Now this is all just speculation and a personal conspiracy theory but with the time frame between the initial release of Destiny and the upcoming release of Black Ops III, both of which Activision are connected to, it just seems all too convenient to be coincidence.
