The messenger is an excellent counter to thorn and the last word as long as you can play the mid-long range sightlines. The messenger in my opinion is one of the best pulse rifles in the game and can be bought from brother vance when it hits his rotating inventory. I just did a review of the weapon for planet destiny and it will be up later this week. Three Little Words and Red Death are also very good pulse rifles that can counter thorn, just know that if you are an up close aggressive player than Thorn and TLW will still stand above the rest.

I've been running endless crucible matches last week and will again this week so improving all the time . I have a three little words and a red death but haven't played with them yet . I will have a good run through this week and try it out . Thanks really appreciate you taking the time to reply . cannot wait for this weeks podcast

Thanks Muntarg, and I can be slow with replies but I always try to check this clan page when I can (usually once a week if not more). Yeah if you already have Red Death or 3 little words I'd give them a go, Red Death I think is a bit better than 3 little words. I still think Thorn is king, but Red Death if you are accurate and play more towards mid ranges it is an excellent gun as well. Good luck in the Crucible and in Trials!
