It's already been said somewhere before by Bungie that our guardians will carry over to Destiny 2 along with our progress and weapons.
But what if you had to start all over again; would you mind? Your 3 Gjallarhorns, all your Ice Breakers and Fatebringers, your Felwinters and Last Words all left behind.
As a day 1 player who has accumulated a wealth of the best weapons and armor, and who had to spend countless hours running around the moon for helium filaments before they were sold by the Vanguard, I think it would be kind of interesting having to start again. Obviously not everyone will feel the same way, and many people might want to feed me to Phogoth, the Untamed just for suggesting that we might have to work our way up from nothing all over again.
EDIT: Just some information about Destiny 2 that Bungie had dropped a while back, for those who missed it.
[quote]“For Destiny 2, the idea is that the Guardian that you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure,” said Dague. “If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.”
.... Bungie has since confirmed to IGN that your progress will definitely carry over to the sequel.
Dague also revealed that Bungie is hard at work on the Destiny sequel, despite the fact that Destiny’s first downloadable content pack, The Dark Below, is only out this week.

I believe they also spoke about it to Game Informer or IGN

4 RepliesI would love for the final month of destiny to be a siege on the Tower, and it does fall, so once you go through the destiny 2 story you reclaim the tower and get your stuff back.
-
2 Replieswhen has destiny2 even been mentioned? i sweat they said they had a 10 year plan for destiny?
-
1 ReplyI'd like if there was a separate vault with our items from destiny 1 that we could only access after we have completed the story of destiny 2. That way it would add another slight element of difficulty.
-
we can carry over, but if I were to start over, I'd just quit most likely.. :)
-
2 RepliesWhat if they made you choose, you can only bring 1 exotic gun and 1 exotic armor with you to destiny 2.... And none of the destiny 1 stuff will be in it except what you bring...SO MUCH ANXIETY

Wouldn't matter to me, I'd play it either way.

Edited by Wowbagger: 6/19/2015 12:05:59 PMI don't care either way - chances are we will all be dropping old stuff on our Journey as it's one hell of a long journey - probably something like this:- On May 21, 2012, a publishing contract between Bungie and Activision was published by the Los Angeles Time for a 10 year plan. 2014 - Destiny 1 + Download pass 2015 - Destiny 1 expansion + download pass 2016 - Destiny 2 + Download pass 2017 - Destiny 2 expansion + download pass 2018 - Destiny 3 + Download pass 2019 - Destiny 3 expansion + download pass 2020 - Destiny 4 + Download pass 2021 - Destiny 4 expansion + download pass 2022 - Destiny 4 download pass ends with contact end May 2022 2022 (June) - Destiny Universe Announced for Sep 2022 - new 10 year contract signed with highest bidder.

Actually.... If we could carry over that means the starting level will be (assuming the leaks are right) around 60, that means no one is just going to start it up in D2. Yea, I'm keeping my guns.
-
1 ReplyI wouldn't mind them being underpowered compared to other weapons so there is no reason to use them besides nolestalgia.
-
1 ReplyIf I had to start over again, I don't think I could do it. Most gamers would probably stop playing Destiny if they had to abandon everything. In the years ahead I expect there will be gradual transitions where guns and armor have to be replaced continuously and we might have to dismantle things from earlier games in the series -- unless somehow we get more storage and last gen consoles are left behind.

As long as my hawkmoon goes with me idc

1 ReplyI get the feeling if everything carried over it would be obsolete very quickly.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Blade the Beast1: 6/19/2015 2:08:56 AMI wouldn't mind our guardians being left back and destiny 2 being like the next generation of guardians. And our original ones leaving their children their weapons. So in game we have fresh new characters and classes and all of our old weapons.

1 ReplyWould not play without my progression.
