I know people will argue and complain at this, call me a keyboard warrior yada yada yada. Just hear me out okay? The link is from 3 years ago when Destiny was revealed. It's interesting to note in the art for the planets and areas that the European dead zone is included. What's even more interesting is that in game footage for the Reef was showcased(Vestian Outpost). In another video from around 2-3 years ago it was majorly hinted that Saturn and Mercury would be playable areas, even going as far as to show 3 guardians walking inside a building with the burning sun outside. There's even a cut scene with the Queens brother on Earth("In the wild, this is how we say hello." Ring any bells?) Dinklebot even has unheard dialogue. There was also the promise of fully customisable guardians but you get the point.
Now here's the real kicker, the 'dlc'.
The season pass is priced at $35 which is fair enough. What isn't fair is that $35 is around £22, NOT £35!
The Taken King, which looks great, is priced at $40 which is around £25, NOT £40!
This 'Legendary Edition' is set to be $60 which should be about £37.78. At release it will be around £45. The BIG PROBLEM is that the base game cost many people £40-£60, so for this we'll just say £45. That is already money loss for many. Now add on the £35 season pass(add £5 if you bought them separately) and slap on the £40 for The Taken King(at this stage it should be called 'The Taken Money') and you've spent £120+. You've lost £60, if you still plan on buying TTK.
£20=$31
£35=$55
£45=$71
£75=$120
£120=$190
Now I know this has been very negative and somewhat angry, which it really is, but this game is fun. Destiny has addictive and fun gameplay and crazy awesome guns and armour. But many if not all of us have been robbed. Sure you can't blame Bungie for everything (f*** you Activision) but the proof is in the old videos. Destiny has been fun but I fear it is time to sell it and move on. E3 had shown us an abundance of new games to look forward to. Fallout 4, Mass Effect Andromeda, the FFVI remake and much more. Post your thoughts and feeling about all of this, as everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I would like to see yours.
From an ex-Destiny enthusiast
Edit 1: looked on the psn store and TTK digital collector's edition, which is basically the same as the legendary edition hardcopy, is £75 which equals $120.
Edit 2: I put the money conversion in the dlc section.

7 RepliesI'm going to start off by saying that TDB and HOW had so little content, not to mention HELD BACK CONTENT THAT WAS ON THE DISC SINCE LAUNCH. Both of those were not worth their price tag. They should've been free with the initial purchase So Bungie basically scammed us for 40$ each while they pulled in millions Then they come out with TTK. After loyal destiny players have already spent hundreds of hours and over 100$ on this game for shit that's been cut out, they want to charge us an insanely large amount of money for more DLC which also has cut out content. YOU THINK THE 3rd SUBCLASSES ARE NEW?!?! Hell no. They didn't put that third box in there for no reason. They just wanted to give players a reason to buy this dlc and make anyone who doesn't buy it unable to continue playing. Is it coincidence that these new subclasses look ridiculously OP?! NO. Anyone who doesn't purchase this dlc and tries to play in the crucible is going to get REKT because they will not have access to these new insanely overpowered subclasses. So no DLC=No PVP What about Nightfall and Weekly heroics... Is it coincidence that these are always DLC strikes? No Bungie designed it that way to force players to buy DLC. They could easily fix this by making two separate nightfalls. One for DLC owners one for non DLC owners, but that would hurt their pockets so that's out the window So basically anyone who doesn't buy DLC will be unable to continue playing and that is BULL SHIT This game is just a scam to get Bungie and Activision in your wallets. This game isn't anything. It's just the same old 4 enemy types in reskinned locations doing the exact same thing over and over and over. And Bungie is pulling in millions off of it. There is no innovation, nothing new is being created. Just Reskins. Bravo BungieVision, you guys got rich taking advantage of your gamers

This is what happens when you pair with s company like Activision. Everything you promise becomes lies, your games become shit made just for fast profits. (look at the current dlc situation) So thanks Activision for ruining a great company like bungie.

1 ReplyCouldn't be any more right. After watching the vidoc from 2 years ago really cheesed me off after I saw the Reef. THE REEF. Later shown in the PS4 gameplay trailer. It was there a year before Destiny came out, only for it to be 'opened' as a DLC months on. Another point, the Vex Citadel. Me and many others broke into the Citadel in the early months of the game and BAM! It was released in the HoW. Yes, I know it looks totally different to how it did but the point is IT WAS THEREEEEEE! Well made points, hope your thread picks up.

6 RepliesEdited by Disco: 6/18/2015 10:57:31 PMYou can't use 3 year old material as basis of your argument. The Euro Deadzone was CONCEPT ART. I'll ask you some questions. Do you think that 3 years ago they possibly had the whole story thought out, they had concept art and plans laid out for the upcoming 10 years of the game? Or do you think they only thought of the first game and went straight into production planning to wing it as far as the rest of the content goes? Do you think that as soon as game one was done they stopped working? Or do you think they finished the 1st game and started working on expansions since they had time left til release? Maybe that's why some of the DLC content came on the disk? If you were developing a game, which would you do?

4 RepliesAgree completely. Bungie and Activision have tipped their 10 year hand, and it's all about the $$$ and how to give the player base the bare minimum so they can charge for a greater number of DLC releases. WHY would any gamer want to support this model?

1 ReplyWell said.
