Any noob that comes along and buys the $80 collectors edition gets both expansions, the exclusive exotic class items, the shaders and new emotes which you can only get through buying this edition. This means that Day 1 players who have spent $100 dollars + $40 for the taken king get less unless they re-buy all of the expansions which would mean that in total they would've spent $60 more than a noob buying the collectors edition.
Not only that, players who only own the house of wolves are now forced to buy the dark below in order to buy the standard $40 taken king download even if they don't want to. Many beta players will remember the request for more emotes, well those emotes are exclusive to people who may not even be aware destiny had them.
I think Deej's latest philosophy must be 'out with the old, in with the new.' Since they aren't showing any respect to the loyal fans who have beta-tested this game. I don't have to be patient with this game anymore not with Fallout 4 and Halo 5 coming out soon. This dlc is a joke.
They should sell a Veteran Edition at $45 (seems fair) with the following:
The Taken King
All the Digital extra content from the collectors edition
The weapon pack
and the VIP loot
what you think?

You need to fix this Bungie! Or boycott TTK.
Edit: This post is now on trending keep bumping so Bungie can see this. Lots of support so far!
'JustAnotherGuy' suggested going on Bungie's twitter page.

Edited by Druzel: 9/12/2015 11:14:21 PMSo have you always gotten money back from every game you've played once the value begins to decrease every few months? If not then your just saying your mad because of traditional video game economics.

1 ReplyIs it just me or does anyone else think that the new deal for new starters with both DLC content is actually the game that day one players should have got. I mean it does add creditability to all those controversial youtube videos saying that content was cut now doesn't it.?
-
1 ReplyAlpha tester, I'm defiantly feeling like a dollar sign
-
3 RepliesOk so I completely agree the price for new buyers and year one players who have dragged this game to this point is FUBAR however I am having issue with something else. Who the hell really gives a flying monkey's ass about more emotes FFS what is wrong with you people when the cross pad could be used for something much more useful such as hot swapping guns or using ammo synths without going into menus and dying or hiding in a dark corner during a raid. Seriously guys a gals with all the glitches, server crashes, overly nerfed guns, cheating and being told how we should play the game why does any of the above apart from the price matter to anyone?!
-
2 RepliesDon't cave for ttk guys please. This kind of treatment to such a loyal group of people is kind of upsetting :(
-
I just want to point out that he said this was "Deej's latest philosophy," and that Deej is not responsible for any of this, he is just the one who has to tell us.

8 RepliesWait for destiny 2 with monthly subscription.

Adam the HandNova bombin'. - old
140$ divided by 12 months is... A hair under 12$ a month you would have needed to save to buy this game in its entirety. If the price is that big of a deal to you, then don't do it. To be fair, the game has been out long enough to bring the price down (vanilla Destiny, that is). -
6 RepliesI respect your opinion. Two reasons why it is different for me: 1. The amount of money I spent and will further spend for this game is almost zero in light of my income. 2. The many hours of fun I got for the money spent do make the whole hobby a very cheap one. Much fun for very limited bucks.

People also forget a new expansion pass is yet to be announced. I'm willing to bet it's more than the previous expansion costed.

Bump for better gaming

This is why I'm not buying it. How can they charge us £40 for it when just Destiny was £40 season pass £30 now want another £40! It's not that I can't afford to buy it, it's that I can't bring myself to pay that much for it. If you haven't got the game it's a great deal when I looked on Amazon it was £55 for Destiny DLC 1&2 and The Taken King but for the players like myself we have already paid £70 or more not including TTK I wouldn't mind as much if it was about £30 as its $40! This guy got it spot on! https://youtu.be/D5SizWlb2wo

2 RepliesDude where have u been? No shit.

Ya I mean thy are just screwing up the loyal fans. This is almost as bad when the halo makers made their next game have exclusive content to ONLY play station when xbox made them rich... Oh wait! THIS IS THE SAME COMPANY!
-
You guys gotta realize that Bungie and Destiny are partnered with Activision, the biggest DLC money magnet for consoles. Most likely not Bungie's decision to price products
-
7 RepliesBump. Bungie has until TTK comes out to fix their many missteps. If they don't, I'll take it as a sign that they'd prefer this Alpha player play something else. Which isn't a problem. Borderlands 2 is $30 on PSN right now, and frankly... Even after spending so much time with that game on the 360 it still has more replay value and a much better loot system
-
Day one player. Bump

-
Bungie's view on expansions: you're paying for early access to content, not the content itself
-
Bump. I'm with you.

3 RepliesThey've already said they'll make it available to purchase separately...
