I noticed a few months ago when I was watching The Lord of The Rings that the Nazgûl (the dark horsemen wraths that chase Frodo and his companions) look a lot like the Xür. I thought yeah just a coincidence, but then I remembered the tale of how they came to be... They were once powerful men and were eventually given rings, rings that corrupted them and fed their greed. The rings were made by Suron, a dark God, and he made quite a few, but NINE of them were given to these powerful humans and Suron held the ring that ruled them all. Now what do we know about the Xür? He is an agent of the NINE! He is found saying "my will is not my own" and often seems to have no clue as to what is happening but that he is being controlled or manipulated. This is the same personality of the Nazgûl (wrath horseman from LOTR), they are being controlled by Suron to do his bidding. They are a couple other things that correlate between the two but I thought I'd share those that I found most startling. Now this may all be a coincidence, or just someone at Bungie that loves JRR Tolken's book. Though it maybe foreshadowing events that we have yet to witness or have yet to be explained, like who the hell are/is The Nine. With all that being said I'd like to hear what you think. Am I crazy? Is this stupid? Say something! Maybe we can unravel the true identity of Xür or the Nine.
