  • Logic is technically black though... Lol But yeah good list. White people can rap, and the best ones are the ones who grew up with hip hop and respect the culture and origins, take time to develop real skill, and maybe even dealt with some of the thematic hardships (lived in the hood, bum dad/mom, be hard = survive)... [spoiler]most white rappers mentioned in the thread by others[/spoiler] ... As opposed to those who simply manipulate the genre to produce generic songs, songs that have rap elements—so as to qualify as a "rap" song—while having none of the themes, emotions, sounds, and creativity of actual rap. These artists couldn't care less about the culture, so long as they can win awards and sign deals for half-baked songs that shouldn't qualify as music, much less rap. [spoiler]Macklemore, Iggy. You knew I was gonna drag these clowns from the beginning lol[/spoiler] The problem is that mainstream music focuses on the awful musicians instead of the real, and awards their music as if it IS the real. So people who know what's what see this and then conclude "white people can't rap," not realizing that a whole host of talented artists is being tossed under a rug.
