Here is a Little Computer Lesson

I'm going to break this down again and for some reason it will piss people off. I'm just trying to pass on knowledge to fix some of the misconceptions that people have formed. -A bug: is an error in programming code that produces a result that is normal undesired. Commonly caused by command lines being unclear or following complicated patterns that just get messed up in the writing process. These typically are constant errors that net the same results repeatedly. -A glitch: a word people just throw around, is an error in the execution of a program. Purely incidental problems when coding falls apart within its own execution. Normally is not the cause of outside interference and repeating a glitch is not commonplace unless the program is under strain and fails in the same place. -An exploit: is the act of utilizing a bug, glitch, source, tactic, strategy, ect. that is not normally provided to provide the user an advantage of some sort. (You all seem to think this is only negative for some reason) -A hack: is utilizing an outside source to modify internal coding or programs in such a way that allows the user to produce unintended effects or actions. To provide examples: -the hunter grenade giving supers thing is a bug -me traveling to the reef and no npc's spawning is a glitch -using a lag switch is a hack -using any of the above, knowing enemy tendencies, utilizing protective cover, outflanking a rushing enemy for personal gain is exploitation My biggest problem is that people cry about these things, not even knowing the differences between them. Even the word exploit is used haphazardly. I exploit the fact that captains teleport shortly after being hit, so I only take down their shields then let off on my attack to preserve ammo. Just because of the word, people on these forums would just jump over the fact that I should be punished somehow for doing what any smart guardian would do. TL;dr? Take a few computer classes at a community college or something and actually educate yourself before throwing labels around. Edit: Pretty positive responses so far, and to those of you liking and bumping this thank you! Lets try to get as many people as possible to see this so we can inform at least a few people. Edit 2: We are trending! My first thread to do so no less, so keep it up guys!
