I see people saying you should be matched by skill level If trials was broken down by skill level the ultimate goal would not be achieved. The lighthouse is meant to honor the BEST PvP players in destiny. Not the best players in your skill bracket. I get what you are saying but this isn't an everybody wins elementary school T-Ball league. This is hardcore competitive PvP tournament for the BEST. If you can't beat the other team then you are unworthy of being in the lighthouse period. Trials of Osiris caters to hardcore players and rewards them. It is not a design flaw at all. "But it's not fair, 90% of us will never get there" exactly that's the point! Choosing your battles and only playing people you can beat in a system designed for the best is CHEATING. You deserve your bans.

  • It's nothing close to competitive or hardcore. That's what I'm saying.

  • Yep that's exactly how it should be, I'm just starting to get decent at pvp and I'm completely ok with not getting to the lighthouse until I earn it the way it was intended. That's life children, you'll never have anything handed to you. This forum is mostly children so listen up. Stop begging for changes, this is the way it is/will always be. Get over it

  • I don't expect everybody to win. Me, I expect to win ... eventually. I'm not terrible. I get a good share of Best Around medals. I think I have it in me to see the Lighthouse one day. What I do expect is to be fighting people that are more appropriately matched. Boxing has weight divisions for a reason. Golf has numerous tours, professional and amateur. The way the Trials plays right now, it's like playing Punch-Out! with all the other boxers on random. (Then all the Mike Tysons and Mr. Dreams talk loads of shit about being the best and to eat their bullets, you damned scrubs, because the Lighthouse is the exclusive domain of the elite and only the privileged besties get to get there. Screw everyone else, they got theirs.)

  • I do and don't agree The first few matches should base you off skill, as you gain wins (i.e. 2 or 3) then you start getting the tough teams. By match 7,8,9 you should be fighting off Lighthouse regulars. Make the light house the tough part, not the bronze tier package But to say it isn't the point to have people make it to the lighthouse is really shortsighted. They want everyone to get there man, just not all in the first month.

If Bungie implemented this type of matchmaking they would need to match the teams based off of the player on each team with the highest number of wins on their card. (To prevent boosting) A great thing about this type of structure is the final few games should be exhilarating. Hopefully the result would be that the matches progressively become more challenging and ultimately the final victory more gratifying. This structure would also help negate the argument from that the current structure is unfair as a group could get a lucky chain of poor players and thus gain easy access to the lighthouse.

  • As a terrible PvP player, I agree with this.

  • Being the best means playing the best... if you are even 7-0 your not playing the best

  • Most likely means not playing with good players or cheating..

  • So what your saying is everyone that has been to the lighthouse has cheated or just been lucky and played no decent teams meaning everyone that has been there is not worthy of being there?

  • Pretty much lucky. There is no perfect way of doing this. I've had instances where my first few games were the most competitive and my last games were "sprint to the finish" breezy. I swear my 9th victory was against failed cheaters (all under leveled poorly geared, then for no apparent reason 1 of them DCs)
