Already people selling accounts, power levelibg services, adding in a trade system not only eliminates the loot grind which is what keeps many players playing, but it invites too many glimmer sales, item sales etc. Basically what I am getting at is I feel it would ruin the economy. I like boasting how I have had a thorn, and g-horn and many exotics since vanillas and I laugh at those farming now ^-^ trade would ruin my fun.
