ULTIMATE REFORGE GUIDE - Rockets Launchers

In this thread, I will give my opinion on the best rocket launchers and perks/perks combos. For other weapon classes, go here https://www.bungie.net/sv/Forum/Post/127015993/0/0 I am only going to be suggesting legendaries since this is a reforging guide. Let's start. The best overall PvE and PvP Rocket Launchers have to be Radeghasts Fury and The Ash Factory. Both have balanced stats and most importantly 1 in the mag. I'll explain why. Having 1 in the mag gives you 3 in reserve when picking up heavy in the crucible. That and Clown Cartridge (Chance of 1 more rocket per reload) makes it possible to get a total of 7 rockets, when having 2 in the mag gives you 1 in reserve, making it possible to get only a total of 4. PvP For PvP, you want Clown Cartridge and Proximity Detonation. Clown Cartridge for extra rockets and Proximity for firing around corners and killing anyone who is hiding there because the Proximity Detonation will detect them and explode. For the middle column you want Javelin (Increased Velocity) or Speed Reload (Faster Reload) depending on the velocity of the rocket launcher. Best Launchers for PvP: Radeghasts Fury, The Ash Factory and Admonisher III(Javelin is essential on this one). PvE For PvE, I want a hard-hitting launcher with as many rockets as I can get. For the first perks, I would recommend Tripod, because that will increase mag size to 3 and reserve mag size to 5, making it 8 rockets that you can carry at a time. For middle column I'd suggest a faster reloading perk. Velocity isn't as crucial as it is in PvP because the enemies can't detect the rockets the same way a human does. Then for the final perk I'd say tracking. Not Proximity Detonation, because then Weapons of Light wouldn't affect the rocket in any way. WoL affects a rockets impact on something. Without the rocket explodin on impact but with proximity, WoL will not affect it. Best Launchers : Any rocket launcher that is Reforge Ready. Side note: If you have the Gjallarhorn, you should probably use it unless the thing you're doing has arc burn or void burn. Feel free to argue with me about perk choices/combos. Please don't just say "CC and Proximity OP is such a scrub got gud fagit" but also tell me why you think so. I will be making a Heavy Machine Gun Reforge Guide next. Tell me if this has been helpful too.

 • I would like to add my 2 cents to this topic: If you are looking for the fastest boss-killing rocket for arc or void burns (since Gjallarhorn fills the solar niche), then you can look to the Pax Totalus EPR8 to fill that role nicely. Pax Totalus EPR8 I suggest this easily overlooked rocket for that role because it has the highest fire rate of any rocket launcher currently available in Destiny. As everybody should know, the most important stats for a pve boss-killing rocket are rate of fire, reload speed, mag size and total reserve ammo. (Velocity can also be considered if the boss is a significant distance away.) Since fire rate is non-adjustable across all rockets, the Pax's high fire rate allows it to expend its magazine faster than any other rocket launcher. With the highest base reload speed of any legendary rocket launcher, it can also ready itself for another shooting spree just as quickly. To maximize this rocket's boss-killing potential, I recommend Tripod, Javelin/Speed Reload, and Tracking. Tracking is self explanatory, and Tripod takes advantage of this rocket's high fire rate while also maximizing ammo reserves. The choice between Javelin and Speed Reload is dependent on whether you want to reload faster to expend you're reserves faster or if you want your rockets to get there faster. I feel that Javelin would get the edge here since the Pax does have a very low base velocity (which can affect battles against distant bosses), especially since it already has such a high reload speed. Also, reload speed can be additionally patched with the Trials of Osiris gloves (if you get a lucky roll), while Javelin is the only significant velocity patch that the Pax can get. Of course, no one will stop you from using Speed Reload to reload at the lightning speed you've always dreamed of! Obviously the Pax has its faults, and looking at the base stats it can be easily seen what. Both blast radius and velocity are abysmal for a rocket launcher, making it so that even patching them up with Heavy Payload or Javelin still leaves it subpar compared to other rockets. As a result, the Pax can't be recommended for killing groups of adds since other rockets can do a better job. Also, as mentioned at the start, the Pax can only be recommended during element burn boss fights (Arc or Void in particular). If there is solar or no burn, the Gjallarhorn is the best rocket launcher for the job. If you want to use a rocket launcher to kill groups of adds or big adds, then the Radegast and Ash factory (as recommended by OP) do that job very well. Overall, if you want the fastest boss-killing rocket for arc or void burns, look no further than a Pax with Tripod, Javelin/Speed Reload, and Tracking. It's a small niche, but maybe worth taking advantage of? Maybe?
