"We’ve seen you backing out of matches on final approach in your ships because you saw formidable opponents on the other team. That tactic could earn you a restriction from future Trials of Osiris events. Please stick it out and fight – even if you know you’re about to be visited by tourists from the Lighthouse." - DeeJ, Weekly Update 6/4/15
I don't give a -blam!-. I don't owe that other team my time. I don't owe them my ass to stomp.
If your matchmaking system pushes me against a group that severely, obviously outclasses my group of guys that has yet to get to the Lighthouse, I don't - nor does anybody else - owe them our deaths.
Our penalty is on our card in the form of the loss we take. If you have a problem with people backing out of these matches, then don't count them as a Win for the other team.
Trials of Osiris has some serious design flaws. Solve them.
UPDATE: I should have edited this sooner, I apologize. I am aware of the Change Character exploit some folks may have been doing to avoid a loss. I was admittedly fuzzy on this issue when I initially posted. I believe a lot of my argument still stands, however, and, as others have noted in their replies, Trials of Osiris needs something done to its matchmaking. A simple step in matching Lighthouse Veterans to other Lighthouse Veterans, for instance, would do loads of good in evening the competition by placing the Proven against the Proven, and the Aspiring against the Aspiring.

Trials is about winning, you have to play to win, get gud

You are a terrible soldier. You're getting shot.

People frequently back out prior to the point that the game starts, which results in those players not registering a loss. That's what he's talking about. One player can watch the roster, and the leader can cancel matchmaking before it initiates the match if the other notifies him that the other team is filled with strong players.

Edited by The_Whit3ace: 6/5/2015 4:05:55 AMWell I dont see you complaining about the teams you may have beaten easily. Its the same for those guys too. If you were matched up with people of your skill level you would win 1/2 the matches, and the only team to visit the lighthouse is the best team. Take your loss and try better next time. (This coming from someone who has gotten stomped by a better team and hasn't been to the lighthouse... yet).

Damn right!
-
They're focusing on the people backing out while flying in who give people wins like that
-
3 RepliesDude, you put the words "Rekt" and "Scrub" in the same sentence, what did you think people would choose?
-
1 ReplyWhat really sucks, is that Bungie is putting more time into taking care of PVP now days, than they ever did for PVE, helll it took 3 months to fix Atheon, and another 3 to fix Crota, but leave a match before it starts in ToO, and get ready to get banned, and people still think they actually care about PVE. Destiny 2 will be CoD, no story and only PVP.

Edited by The Gunslinger: 6/5/2015 3:54:25 AMUm.........preach?
i don't know how to respond to this honestly
7 RepliesThank you! When I read that I wanted to spit in DeeJ's face. Finally someone who agrees with me. The glitch is a fix to their crappy matchmaking system that they will never fix. We bought the game, we get to do what we want.
-
He's talking about when people would back out before the match started, not giving them a loss. If you wanna quit and take the L, go ahead.

1 Reply'If you have a problem with people backing out of these matches, then don't count them as a Win for the other team.' Most retarded thing I have seen today. And I'm watching Klay Thompson right now

2 RepliesEdited by oBROCKxSAMSONo: 6/5/2015 2:23:44 AMI was on the other end of this, had three teams back out and gave us 3 free wins because my team was rocking emblems, i only went on one character, gonna move my emblem to another character to get some more free wins this weekend, you cant "get rekt" if you dont even try, thats how i got "gud", played better teams. Man up.

13 RepliesEdited by bigbadwulfen41: 6/5/2015 1:59:21 AMOnce you have gone flawless on a character, or all 3, is there any point visiting the lighthouse again? Can the big chest be opened more than once per character? If not then why would you bother to keep competing in the trials, and if you can open it, then maybe it should be on a reset like other weekly events?
-
Edited by ShoulderGuy420: 6/5/2015 3:42:19 AMMy group and I went flawless last week and we only needed 3 wins. We couldn't believe how everyone was backing out.

2 RepliesEdited by lRichtofenl: 6/5/2015 2:27:35 AMReally??? Its already difficult to get 9-0 now you want me to fight lv34 thorn fag sunsingers with 3500 grimore every match. Focus on fixing your ducking PvE like why am I waiting days for a subpar exotic

1 ReplyEdited by SpaceFmK: 6/5/2015 3:18:47 AMYou are playing their game, you can play it how they want, or not at all. If your team sucks so bad you cant beat somebody else just because they have been to the lighthouse (not really a true show of skill) than maybe you shouldnt play trials.... Really though, this is a thread about wishing you could cheese the trials.
-
2 RepliesThe only way to be the best is to beat the best. Leaving games and getting no experience against good players is stupid. You'll always be a beta and never reach alpha status with that mind set.
-
2 RepliesPretty sure they are referring to people who would back out and change characters before the match starts
-
4 RepliesLol who is going to report a team that just gave them an easy win and faster passage to the lighthouse?
-
I find it funny because I never knew about this until the update and will most likely use it now. Thanks DeeJ!
As a scrub, I need to use this technique to get gud
-
So... cheesing a boss is fine and all, but quitting early and giving a team a free win isn't?
-
this makes me angry. that matchmaking for too is ccoplete shit! we had two fails on our card, no wins and played against a team with 8-idk. wtf is this shit? is it so hard to make matchmaking with a team with the same wins or one more or less? am i the only one who thinks this is shit?
-
Oh well, poor destiny. With mgs5, the division, fallout 4, mass effect 4, and battlefront coming soon, destiny will be long forgotten. COD can -blam!- off, it's complete shit now and I'm not yet sure about halo 5 but the point is, there are so many amazing games coming soon why would I waste anymore money on a mediocre destiny universe? The end of this year and beginning of next will be -blam!-ing epic for gamers :)
