I've been copying this to every matchmaking topic I can find but I think Prison of Elders is the start of a good idea. Give us a matchmaking friendly normal mode and a pre built team only hard mode.
That way those of us who can't or simply don't want to get a group together don't have to, and we can accept the risks of afks, bad players, etc.
Meanwhile those who are able to meet the requirement and come in with a dedicated group have a more challenging, more rewarding version to compensate the extra effort. Both parties are happy.
Although I would not be opposed to new raids being restricted when they are first released and then opened to matchmaking once the hard mode is available.
Same goes for the level 32 version of the prison of elders. From what i understand starting with week 2 it will rotate and become whichever one was the level 34 in the previous week. So it fits the same concept.
Edit:
I definitly agree with this
ToO- Must be level 33 to queue for optional matchmaking.
PoE- Optional matchmaking for level 32 unlocks when you hit level 32.
Optional matchmaking for level 34 and 35 unlocks at level 34.
Nightfall- Optional matchmaking unlocks at 32.
Raids- Optional matchmaking unlocks for normal mode when hard mode releases.
Optional matchmaking for hard mode unlocks when the next expansion releases.
