Question: couldn't one say that evolution support the bible? Noah's ark had two of every animal according to the bible. Another take on this is there were 2 of every species. Evolution often indicates that there was at some point 1 animal for every species not just 1 type of animal. So wouldn't evolution agree with the story of Noah in saying that in some point in time there was only 2 of every species.

Life is a river that changes, you can compare different parts of the river with each other and the further apart they are the more different they get.

Evolution does not ever say there was only one of a species. Evolution occurs when gene frequency across an entire population of species changes enough to become a new species. Also, if it were to coincide with the biblical timeline, evolution would have to be such a rapid process that we would be finding new species by the handfuls daily.

  • But remember this. When two family members have a baby, that baby has a much higher chance of birth defects that are normally very low in a single parent. This meaning if one animal had say Down syndrome then as the animal mated with others with Down syndrome. The resulting baby would be born with Down syndrome active and not just in its DNA like the parents have. Since the chance of animals living friend the diseases is low, that baby would die and so would all children that the parents have. Over time this would slowly kill out the whole species. The thought of every species being clean and without faults isn't heard of. As far as I know God didn't pick the animals, Mose did. So some mistakes would be made and those animals would be lost.

  • Actually just a few side notes, 1 Noah made the ark (although on some sites "Moses ark" is a joke so maybe I'm just misunderstanding lol) 2 it wasn't two of every kind it was two of every unclean, birds, and a few others, and 7 *pairs* of every clean animal meaning there's a lot more pairs of quite a few species.not supporting your argument just putting some facts out there :)

  • Maybe but then you must look at accidents in birth. Not all mothers walk away from having a baby
