Rivers of Blood - RP History
This is the main story line for the rp thread, [i]Rivers of Blood[/i] - it is loosely tied to Warhammer 40K and other titles.

[b][i]Chapter 8.3 - Battle of the Abyss[/i][/b] [b][i]Planet Igneous, Abyssal Colonies.[/i][/b] [i][b]A psychic scream[/b] echoes through the fabric of real space as the colossal, Capitol ship, the Bloodwrath, tears through the immaterium and into reality. Immediately, the opposing tidal forces of gravitational pull begin tearing at each other - the Bloodwrath itself is roughly 1/6th the size of planet Igneous. The sky lights up with a breathtaking phenomenon, similar to that of an aurora borealis, as the warp begins to engulf the entire planet. [b]"After the Bloodwrath has had her fill, you know what to do..." Sends the Summoner telepathically to the Primarch of the Death Legion, his greatest ally. [/b][/i] [i]Moments later,[/i] [b][i]The Bloodwrath begins it's assault on planet Igneous - dozens of gigantic, chaos bastions detach from the exterior of the hulking ship, and levitate down slowly through the sky, blotting out the sun as they descend. The bastions land in and around the already ravaged Capitol city of the planet.. The bastions themselves are miles around in diameter, and brimming with demons, undead, and chaos legionnaires. Hives of defensive gun towers land around the already, heavily fortified bastions, and immediately open fire on the surrounding city and it's inhabitants. Once the fortifications are in place, tens of millions of drop pods detach from the terrifying behemoth and enter the atmosphere of planet Igneous. Wave after wave of the Summoner's Legion of Darkness slam into the war torn streets. The hulking, chaos legionnaires exit the pods. Their 9ft, heavily armored forms cut imposing shapes as the brandish incredibly advanced pieces of outlandish weaponry - one could only guess at the nature of these weapons. The forces of the Summoner begin to kill everything, offering the mutilated flesh and immolated souls of their victims to the Bloodwrath and her master, the Summoner. "26 billion souls, ripe for the taking. Their sacrifice will fuel the next wave of my legion, and once this planet falls, only planet Regloth will stand between us and Terra.. The Imperium will burn, and the gods will piss on it's smoldering ashes!!" Roars the Summoner as he draws his chaos sword, the Blood Reaper, and enters the drop pod.[/i][/b] [spoiler]Open post. This battle will last day or 2, then the planet will be destroyed for plot related purposes. Start thinking about your extraction plan. This post is an all out war, show me what you're made of!![/spoiler]

[b][i]Chapter 8.2.1 - Into the Abyss[/i][/b] [i]"Prep for launch, I want to be in the Abyssal Colonies by the end of the week" says Libreous as he checks the camera feeds. "He's here" finished Libreous. "How do you know?" Asks the first officer "The feed is looped..." [/i] [b][i]Libreous preps his gear, then steps into the shadow - vanishing from sight.[/i][/b]

[b][i]Planet Valhalla[/i][/b] [i]A lone figure walks through a darkened cave, mutilated corpses lie in his wake, but don't stay dead for long - the dead rise again, enslaved to the Summoner's asset. The Chaos Librarian reaches the collapsed portion of the tunnel, reanimated corpses trail a few meters behind. The Librarian lowers his psychic hood - revealing a fully tattooed face, scriptures written in fine print cover his face. The golden ink reads from right to left, with an emblazoned, 8 pointed star around his left eye. The Librarian kneels to the ground, he picks up a lost pocket knife. He closes his eyes as he sees the knife's history unfold before his warp sight. It belonged to a loyalist, someone who knew the Summoner was at work here.. Something else. Someone else... [b]Pavel was here, the Summoner would want to know this.[/b] The undead part, allowing the Chaos Librarian to walk through their ranks. He would have work to do. [/i]

[b][i]Chapter 8.2 - Abyss[/i][/b] [i]A small, yet incredibly advanced star cruiser docks at orbital platform 667. Servitors load the ship with several unmarked crates and tanks of various sizes. One of the servitors notices a shimmering light moving towards the ship, but says nothing. Minutes later...[/i] [i]Libreous-Tibrarium appears on the bridge of the ship. "Delay departure for a few hours, I want to make sure he follows me aboard." Says Libreous. "But sir, this ship would detect anyone far before they coul-" starts the first officer before being interrupted "A rogue Inquisitor could easily board this ship without you're knowledge.. Just do as I say" interjects Libreous[/i] [i]"When he boards, we head to the Abyssal Colonies, but first we make a pit stop." [b][i]A meteor falls to the surface of planet Valhalla in the dead of night, it lands just outside the city of Stravpol.[/i][/b] [i]First Captan Corvo Karras gets a funny feeling about the meteor and goes to look for himself - his suspicions are confirmed. It's a drop pod... An empty drop pod.[/i] [i]huge tracks lead through the snow towards the city - the tracks are imprinted with a skull on the left foot, and an 8 pointed star on the right foot.[/i] [b][i]Those two insignias alone mean nothing, but together they could only mean one thing: a high ranking, Chaos Legionnaire loyal to the Summoner has arrived.[/i][/b]

A secondary planet has been discovered and probed for valuable resources - it's loaded with priceless ore. Whoever controls this planet will control a large portion of the Abyssal region. A lead suggests that the forces of chaos have taken root here - Corvo plans on discovering the nature. With him are other scout snipers, stealth units, and a small group of scientists that have a mission of their own, Corvo was not briefed as to what that might be. They have been walking for hours - looking for any sign of activity. "master! Kora has escaped and managed send the Bloodwrath on a collision course with the nearest star!" [b][i]"WHAT?!?!" Roars the Summoner with outrage.. How had they managed to get past all of the defences on the ship and the thousands upon thousands of legionnaires? *his personal stormbird drop ship arrives, it is outfitted with an interceptor class set of engines, and is incredibly fast* "TO THE BLOODWRATH!!" Roars the Summoner as the ship takes off at near warp speed [/i][/b] *One hour later* "Take the ship back to the Tomb Forge. Purge the damaged sections and the entire A.I. Replace it with something more... Suitable for our needs" says the Summoner darkly "Understood.. We will imbue it with the darkness itself" says one of the Dark Champions [b][i]*The Bloodwrath heads for the Tomb Forge*[/i][/b]

When the package is secure, we will need extraction" says the Summoner to one of his champions *The Summoner takes a drop pod to the surface, completely alone, while his forces create a diversion. The Bloodwrath cloaks itself and relocates to avoid detection* *Meanwhile, demons begin destroying the main city of the secondary planet*[/i]

[b][i]Chapter 8 - Legion of Darkness[/i][/b] [i]*Libreous-Tibrarium is hard at work, marking cultist targets and sending forces to end them. He stands in the fleet command ops center on orbital platform 667 - the city is about to be under attack by cultists* "Sir, you're going to want to take a look at this.." Says a servitor as he hands Libreous a data slate [b]Communications to the Abyssal Colonies have gone dark..[/b] [/i] [i]Meanwhile, across the vastness of space..[/i] [b][i]*Hundreds of secondary planets are outright destroyed. Planet Igneous and Regloth are under siege by the largest, and most fearsome battle fleet in the history of the galaxy - the Summoner at the speartip. The Summoner's Chaos forces outnumber Imperium forces 10 to 1, while his fleet outnumbers Imperium ships 5 to 1* *The Imperium fleet in the Abyssal Colonies is ordered to retreat - there can be no victory* *The citizens and warriors on planet Igneous and Regloth have no way out - there can be no escape* *Billions of drop pods rain down from the heavens like black, smokey tears - the Legion of Darkness descends, bringing the fury of the Summoner and the wrath of hell upon the Imperium* [/i][/b] [spoiler]This is a huge open battle that will be a permanent front throughout chapter 8. [b][i]Chapter 7 Epilogue[/i][/b] [i] The Cult of Armageddon has sank it's claws into he hearts and minds of the Golden City and many other imperial planets - manipulating the infrastructure to benefit the cults interests, which are starting to become known. Preparations for the Cult's attack have been made, and now a ticking time bomb is nearing zero. However, the the cultists have become the least of the Imperiums worry. The Summoner's Legion has reached it's destination in the Abyssal Colonies. [/i] [b][i] Heads turn to the sky over planet Igneous, Regloth, and every single secondary planet - a fleet of a caliber never before witnessed in the history of the galaxy translated out of the warp and into real space. Citizens all over the imperium report nightmares of demons and hallucinations of unspeakable horrors - some are saying that these visions are premonitions of a catastrophic conflict that will leave nothing but ash and smoldering worlds in it's wake.. Some dream of a Legion... One with vast, unimaginable power, that is spreading it's foul wings and bringing chaos into the stars as we speak. A Legion of Darkness... The suicide rates spike all over the imperium, many would rather die then face this nightmare. [/i][/b]

[b][i]Chapter 7 Finale - Parts 1 & 2[/i][/b] [i]Follow the link below. Parts 1 and 2 are different perspectives, they are intertwined. You'll see. After you finish, go back and do it again and choose different paths. Some parts of the story are only revealed down certain paths, and to totally understand what's happening, I recommend following every path. Parts 1&2 are the precursor to the main event - a major cultist attack on the city. Parts 3 and 4 will contain the actual attack itself. 3&4 will be very bloody and include multiple boss encounters where you will have to kill. [b][i]Escape from the Tomb Forge[/i][/b] [i]*Kolyat follows the trail of broken bodies for hours as he heads down Libreous's escape route - Libreous scouts ahead, a massive terminator like Kolyat isn't exactly subtle* *Eventually, Kolyat arrives to a large chamber with bloody, mutilated bodies strewn everywhere. Libreous appears with a flash of shimmering light and a woosh noise* "It's time we get out of here" Libreous says as he activates a hidden passage *The two of them continue until they reach a heavy blast door, Libreous begins hacking the door using his wrist mounted, holo panel* *While Libreous is working, Kolyat begins hearing whispers and seeing shapes moving in the darkness - something is watching them* *Moments later, the blast door opens to the surface of the planet, it's some sort of staging area. An army of demonic legionnaires are hard at work loading ships with supplies.. Almost as if they are planning an assault of sorts, this can't be good* [b]Off in the distance, he sees a handful of drop ships entering the atmosphere. To the untrained eye, one might think the drop ships were normal, but to the veteran eyes of Libreous, he can tell they are allies. He zooms in with his helmets powerful lenses - imperium snipers are unloading and begin to set up for extraction. Although this is good news, there is a lot of distance and chaos legionnaires between him and the extraction point, and his new ally isn't nearly stealthy enough to get by unnoticed.. This will probably get messy. *a mile and a half of open ground lays between Libreous and the extraction, several raised buildings will offer the snipers a perfect firing angle - hopefully it will be enough [/b][/i] (Open post. Take down enemies and cover Libreous and Kolyat's escape)

[b][i]The Sacrifice[/i][/b] *With the death of his brother and the acquirement of his new chaos sword, [i]the Blood Reaper[/i], the Summoner begins the process of conjuring the most evil force the galaxy has ever seen - [b][i]The Legion of Darkness[/i][/b]. (Chapter 8 Spoiler XD) The first step is to sacrifice his millions of prisoners, among them is Libreous-Tibrarium* "It's time we complete my demonic army.. I will have all my prisoners slain, their souls will supply the shards to conjure the darkest demons from the warp, then we begin our conquest!!" [b][i]"KILL THEM ALL"[/i][/b] Roars the Summoner [i]*Deep within the Tomb Forge, all of the prison doors open up, conjoining all of the prison wings that were previously separated to keep the peace - the orks, tyranids, necrons, humans, astartes, Eldar, and many other xenos species clash in a bloody free for all. Every death charges a soul gem that will be used to conjure the legion of darkness. Libreous and his newly found ally must survive this riot, then when the demons come to finish the killing, escape or death will be the only outcome* [/i]

[b][i]The total destruction of Sarris-Sanguine[/i][/b] *Libreous-Tibrarium has prepared the complex ritual to the letter, guided by the Lexicon of Sin. The crypt offered the desecrated bodies required for the ritual, and it was taking place within close enough proximity to Sarris's soulbound chaos sword, [i]the Blood Reaper[/i]. Libreous would save his Primarch from an eternity of damnation within the realm of dreamscape - the land between the living and the truly dead* *Lexicon of Sin in hand, Libreous begins the ritual. Moments later, everything would change* [i]Moments later, in the Summoners trophy room..[/i] [i][b]*The Blood Reaper ignites in a fiery crimson explosion - drawing the Summoner into the room. The flames intensify as a giant, winged form materializes in front of him, the Summoner can't believe his own eyes.. His identical twin brother, Sarris-Sanguine stands before him*[/b] *Sarris looks at the loathsome blade with contempt* "This blade you forged has been the plague of my existence.. I should have never listened to you all those years ago" says Sarris in his deep, baritone voice "It was forged from one loving brother to another, but you spat in my face and turned your back on me. From that day forward, you were dead to me.." Says the Summoner "You're a monster, I'm about to do what I should have done a long time ago!" Shouts Sarris-Sanguine as be begins tearing his own soul apart from within. *Sarris shreds his own soul, purging it of the loathsome Blood Reaper. Immediately after, the blade turns from crimson flames to white - but only for a moment. Soon it is bound to another soul, the soul of it's creator* "As I told you before, Sarris... I've always been the stronger one!!" Roars the Summoner as he grips the Blood Reaper - it explodes into blue flames as it binds to his soul, imbuing him with even more hellish power *The Summoner drives the chaos blade into Sarris's chest, the Blood Reaper devours the torn remnants of Sarris's soul - destroying the Primarch of the Death Angels for all eternity* *The Summoner stands silently as he feels the great power of the blade coursing through him* "Exquisite..." [/i]

[b][i]The Blood Reaper[/i][/b] [b]The chaos sword of Primarch Sarris-Sanguine sits on display within the Summoner's trophy room, it is now a lifeless blade. The 8ft long Blood Reaper is the only remaining connection to Sarris. It is bound to his soul.[/b] [b][i]Meanwhile within the dreamscape..[/i][/b] [i]A massive, black winged warrior roams the desolate, black sanded desert as the sun begins to set - his armor rusted away long ago. The sands of time fall differently in this realm, if has been an eternity since his death [b]The figure stops.. His soulbound, spectral blade begins to resonate[/b][/i]

[b][i]The Lexicon of Sin[/i][/b] [i]*Libreous-Tibrarium continues to read the Lexicon of Sin as he waits to infiltrate the crypt. As he continues to read, the runes on the pages seem to come to life - the book holds great power, horrifying power* *The prison cafeteria is now empty and dark, Libreous is sitting in the same spot.. He begins hearing whispering* [b]Movement[/b] *Libreous looks up from the book, and for a moment, the after visions of the runes dance in his vision. Unnatural shadows skulk about in the darkened cafeteria.. He catches a glimpse of a man in a finely-tailored suit standing in the corner, his features obscured by shadows - but a moment later, he's gone* *he looks at a clock on the wall, it's time* [/i]

[b][i]Ostan Del'Rothas..[/i][/b] Arrives back to the Golden City after finishing his business on planet Regloth. He reports directly to his 21st Eastern District - more business, but of a different variety *Ostan enters House Del'Rothas headquarters, shipping arrangements must be made. Things are going according to plan, the operation is ahead of schedule* *Ostan sits in his extravagant office at the top of Del'Rothas HQ going over invoices and shopping logs. He begins to arrange a cargo transport from planet Regloth to Terra, this operation is time sensitive* [i]"You've been too sloppy, Senator" comes a voice from behind him - a wave of fear washes over Ostan as he recognizes the voice "By the time the inquisition discovers our plans, it will be too late. You'll have what you need and I'll be long gone from this mess" says Ostan as he turns around, a massive hooded figure standing in the shadows "Good. Your reward will be your life. I will finish what my father started. The entire golden city will be sacrificed so that he may return.. There will be a dark reckoning" says the Beast with his deep, inhuman voice before vanishing into nothingness [/i]

[b][i]The Crypt[/i][/b] [i]Deep within the Tomb Forge lies the Crypt - Libreous received a request for a meeting here *A pair of chaos legionnaires in full battleplate guard the entrance to the crypt, it is off limits to the prisoners. They stand at the top of a long, spiraling staircase that leads down into a darkened abyss* *One of the legionnaires sees a faint, shimmering in the air, but it's too late now.. [b]Libreous-Tibrarium uppercuts the chaos legionnaire so hard that his skull splinters into bloody shards within his helmet, the body tumbles end over end through the air and lands in a heap of ruin several feet away* *Before the other guard can react, Libreous is already on him. Libreous dodges a whirring chainsword as he spins counterclockwise and to the left. He seizes the legionnaires head and rips it from his shoulders with a sickening, wet crunch - gore spurts from the headless corpse as it crashes to the floor. Libreous hurls the bodies off the ledge and into the darkened abyss below the staircase*[/b] *Libreous descends for what feels like 2 hours before coming the the entrance to the crypt. He hopes inwardly that his new ally can be trusted, and that whoever set up this meeting is the real deal.. He will need help escaping this hell hole* *Libreous enters the pitch black crypt* [/i]

[b][i]Planet Tomb Forge - Deep within the Eye of Terror[/i][/b] [i]*Commander Libreous-Tibrarium had been in captivity for roughly a week. He has been brutally interrogated and tortured, but remains unbroken. His tenacity and resilience is unparalleled* *Libreous is thrown back into general population of the Summoners prison with heretics, pirates, filthy xenos, murderers, and fellow members of the imperium - most have learned to fear Libreous and avoid the deadly warrior at all costs* [b]Libreous sits in a dark corner of a cafeteria as the inhabitants of the prison eat, gamble, brawl, and converse. Many bear recent injuries inflicted by Libreous himself, and they glare in his direction - Libreous ignores them. Instead, his attention is drawn to a book nearby.. A copy of the Lexicon of Sin (the book that the cult of Armageddon is based upon, it's like a dark, chaos tainted bible). Libreous grabs the book as his curiosity gets the best of him. As touches the book, his psychic senses recoil sharply - the book seems to be possessed by a dark entity (Libreous is a low grade psyker, a master of illusion and alteration, hence his rogue abilities) Libreous opens the Lexicon of Sin...[/b] [/i]

[b][i]Chapter 7.5.2 - Unbreakable[/i][/b] *Commander Libreous-Tibrarium is stripped of his armor and thrown into [i]the pit[/i]. The pit is a wing of the Tomb Forge's prison for the most powerful enemies of the Summoner. Hundreds of inmates are thrown together in general population. The pit is an all astartes (huge 8ft tall super soldiers) population - but Libreous is far beyond astartes* *Without his armor, Libreous stands 11ft tall and is over 1000 pounds of super dense, rippling muscles. His physique supersedes all but a Primarch, and his skills have been honed for over 2300 years, although he looks to be in his late 20's* [i]*The doors slam shut behind him as hundreds of inmates gather around* "What have we got here?? A dog of the imperium?!?" Shouts one of the men *Libreous remains silent* "I think we need to teach this dog a lesson!" Shouts another [b]Screams of multiple men echo throughout the halls of the prison.[/b] [/i]

[b][i]Chapter 7.5.1 - Pavel's Escape[/i][/b] *Pavel and his rescuers race to the top of the Citadel of Shadows for extraction, demons and chaos legionnaires giving chase* *Roughly an hour later, they reach the top of the spire where a cloaked transporter is waiting. As Pavel and his captors enter the vessel, the pilot's expression changes* "Where's Libreous??" Asks the Pilot *A moment later they have their answer* [b][i]Libreous-Tibrarium sprints out from the lift, demons and legionnaires, too numerous to count, are hot on his heels. As he nears the dropship, something horrible happens* *The Summoner appears out of a hell gate, fire spewing in all directions as he reaches a hand towards Libreous. A tendril of distortion reaches out, snagging Libreous from mid air only a meter from the ship, and drags him back* *The Summoner drags Libreous into the hell gate before anyone can stop him - It closes behind them as demons and legionnaires force the ship to leave* *Commander Libreous-Tibrarium has been captured by the Summoner*[/i][/b] (Open post. Pavel and his rescuers are exiting on the ship while Tep-Pharon opens a portal for the distraction force to teleport back to the nearby ship) [spoiler]I hate teleporting and I try never to use it, especially over long distances - hence the ship being nearby[/spoiler]

[b][i]The Tomb Forge - the Summoner's new Fortress[/i][/b] *Deep within the eye of terror, the Summoner's vast demonic armies create an impenetrable fortress world called [i]the Tomb Forge[/i]. It is of an unmatched caliber* *at the heart of the Tomb Forge, the Summoner conjures and creates abominable monstrosities the likes of which have never been witnessed - he is forging a terrifying chaos army and creating new horrifying weapons* *Pavel remains on planet Eidolon within the Citadel of Shadows, but the Summoner is far from finished with him* (This is the Summoner's new home)

[b][i]Chapter 7.5 (Part 1) - Distraction Force[/i][/b] [i]Planet Eidolon, Courtyard of the Citadel[/i] *An army of horrifying demons toils restlessly in front of the Citadel of Shadows when something that has never occurred before happens - it begins to snow* [i]Hours later..[/i] *An all out blizzard slams into the Citadel, several feet of snow has accumulated and the sharp, frigid winds blow fiercely. Visibility is minimal as the demons and inhabitants of the Citadel are left clueless as to what is happening* [i]*A large group of demons patrol the exterior of the citadel when one of them catches a glimpse of a massive, horned figure with blazing white, glowing eyes walking amidst the blizzard, it's features obscured by the snow* *the demon breaks off from his group to investigate. As it approaches, the temperature drops sharply - hoarfrost begins forming on it's demonic armor as it continues towards the area where it last saw the giant figure. A catastrophic impact rings out as Ømen slams his giant shockmaul into the horde of demons - arcing waves of chain lightning blaze through in bright, strobing flashes, that ripple through their ranks, hurling dozens up into the air as a shockwave radiates outward from the heavy blow. Moments later, Tep-Pharon levitates into view over the scene - heralding the arrival of many champions that are here to wreak havoc on the demonic forces.. The distraction force has arrived. This force will hold the enemies attention, allowing a second group of champions to infiltrate the Citadel and find Pavel. [/b][/i] (Open post.
