At current, our philosophy about endgame content is that part of the challenge includes forming up a team. This is a strong community filled with players who are looking for teammates. Why not seek each other out here and band together?

Because pvp isn't end game content.
-
Ib is, it has matchmaking.

Edited by Musashi Orboro3: 5/25/2015 3:48:57 AMSo, what is it about the endgame content that sets it apart from the rest of the game? Why restrict the content to only matchmaking done outside of the game? Don't we want everyone to have a chance at experiencing the highest level challenges in the game, and earn the rarest gear, or do we want to keep that content exclusive to a handful of elite players?
-
Good point

On a whim I attempted to find a clan in recruitment. One with players that are on when I am. Not like my current one, which I only joined out of necessity. First one was rejected for not having a high enough KD ratio? Freaking kidding me? The second was rejected for the same thing with an added comment that I had no Gjahallhorn.. Seriously? All this shit so I can play content?
-
Why not put in matchmaking and save us the time? At current, all other games use matchmaking, not an app.
-
Well your philosophy, to put it bluntly, is crap. You dub Destiny a "social" game yet it is one of the most socially limited "social" games. No OPTIONAL matchmaking for those that want it. No PRIVATE games for friends. No in-game clan support. No in-game group finder. Hell, there wasn't any world chat at one point. Of course Bungie implemented it too late and now no one even bothers to use it. Stop being stubborn and smug and make Destiny accessible to EVERYONE. Then you can actually call Destiny a social game. Oh, and put the grimore in the game for Christ sake!

Edited by The Zodiac Brave: 5/24/2015 10:49:34 PMHow will I know if someone is going to be any good at raiding, Trials, or POE until I actually try it with them? Endgame content is radically different from everything else on the shelf (or at least it should be. Some of the new endgame content is looking depressingly samey), if I see a random, shooting dudes in the face in the cosmodrome or in the crucible, that is absolutely no guarantee that they'll be able to run sword or relic or that they'll be a team player in Trials.
At current, our philosophy about endgame content is that part of the challenge includes forming up a team.
Deej Based on what countless players say "Grouping with randoms via MM is insane(difficult because players go afk ect.). If the point is to make it more challenging then in no way will OPTIONAL MM conflict with your "philosophy". All your saying is you want use to work before we grind. Come on. We thought this was a game.

Edited by II Stargazer x: 5/24/2015 9:21:41 PMall those who support this are BIAS towards those who just want to play
-
Part of the challenge is getting a team together???? Did you seriously just say that? You really don't get it.... Just let us play the game without having to go the app or another third party website. Why is that so difficult?
-
Fair questions that they won't answer.
-
Whats the gain when you have to work just to get a team together? Just more of a grind?
-
Damn! Just realized that without matchmaking it makes it more difficult to burn through content! It's Grindception!

I'd rather take 5 min on LFG (cause that's all it takes) than an hr joining different lobbies to find a somewhat decent team.
-
It takes more than 5 minutes in my experience. I use LFG a lot with mixed success depending on the group. I think MM would work well for PoE from what I've seen of it (32, but unless 34 is significantly different I don't see it not working for 34. 35 PoE boss is a beast from what I understand, so maybe not), I also think MM would work for NF. I DON'T think many people would find successful groups for raids. Raids can be a monster. I would be happy to see MM implemented, I would absolutely use it for NF and PoE, and for those activities I think it would work well. If others want to try MM for raids I say go for it. Best of luck to all people involved. I would still use LFG for raids though. Communication is key, especially if skill level or experience is low. Just my .02

Which you could still do. We aren't saying shut those sites down, just put in OPTIONAL matchmaking. You don't want matchmaking don't use it.
-
Optional doesn't matter and I hate how people low to flaunt the word. It would tie down a team at Bungie, a team that could be assigned to bug fixes or new feature development instead
-
Yea because they're all over that now. Got teams of people reskinning enemies left and right, all day and night to get ready for comet. Lol.
-
Lol yeah so they can work on the purple ball and so that we can wear helmets in the tower.
-
Lol, there should be no need for bug fixing, it's called quality control and BUNGIE does not use it.
-
How are we to do that with no social environment in-game to get it done?
