I'm so indecisive about this it's not even funny.
For death penalty: I think that people (like the Boston bomber) do not deserve to live and the world would of course be better off without them. Why waste the resources and housing to keep them alive even in prison? It's better to kill them and move on.
Against: I also enjoy the idea of those people rotting in jail for the rest of their existence. With the death penalty, you always risk killing an innocent person. Plus, killing people like the Boston bomber runs the risk of making them a martyr for some messed up cause.
Regardless, death row inmates spend an average of 10 years in prison before their execution. Most end up developing mental illnesses long before they are killed.
In all, I'm indifferent either way when a death sentence is announced because no matter what, that person will never be allowed out into the public ever again.
