Why are there no fossils of these "common ancestors"? Why are there no fossils of any in-between species? Why can't humans and apes interbreed?

  • There are fossils of those species, but just not many. This is because of several reasons: 1) The fossils could have been destroyed over time. 2) Not every dead animal becomes a fossil. The conditions required for fossilization are quite rare. 3) The earth is huge. We simply haven't found some of them yet. 4) Some have sank too deep into the earth to be found. It depends on where the animal died.

  • 1 and 2) prove there aren't. 3) that's the definition of a species.
