Since the story is still ongoing.....Its hard to say the story is full of holes. That would be like picking up a book reading 2 chapters and putting it down in disgust because they have not yet explained how the villain showed up at the heroes doorstep. Now hopefully as the game progresses then more and more of the story comes to light but so far the premise of the story and what we have at this point is intriguing. It might come to nothing...it might be pretty epic. Right now its definitely better than any Battlefield or COD game storyline.

Continuing the story or even a cliffhanger at the end is acceptable but chopping it up until it doesn't make since and pulling pieces only to sell back to us later is wrong.

Well the problem is you are assuming that this is a stand alone book with the entire story written out. You could also consider this to be a series of books with each book giving you more information than the last...while also clearing up some mysteries that were left in the prior book. If you consider it to be like an epic tale told in a series of books then we have. Book one: Introduction to universe and enemies which ends with the possibility of the traveler beginning to be revived Book two: Guardians beginning to strike out and take back the moon by destroying the Hives champion Book three: Had to deal with the reef and prison of elders but only very basic info known at this time now what bungie will do with the story...well they could just absolutely destroy its potential or they could continue to bring more information to light until finally the entire tale is told and the Destiny game series are completed.

One could argue that the original game should have been the entirety of the first book in a series. It does seem logical. The original in-game story is lacking, that is a fact. They are slowly bringing in more story which is definitely great but in my mind these two expansions should have both made up the second book while the big expansion later this year is the third book. I know I can't be the only one who finished the original game's story and thought, "That's it? No plot twists? No interesting characters? Just that?" That being said, I love this game, I play it often but what they NEED to do is implement the grimoire cards in game or verbally/physically into the story because I found those far more interesting than the actual in-game story.
-
Well i agree they do need to implement the grimoire and honestly i dont think ppl would complain about the story if they had the grimoire in game from the start. I think the story is intriguing but poorly told.

But each chapter costs $20
-
Really better then battlefield or call of duty story ? Minecraft has a better story then this dam game
-
Yeah....their stories are atrocious and laughably predictable.

Its a game so an exact side by side comparison with a book would not be appropriate. That being said maybe Bungie will do something with the story they have...maybe they will let its potential fall flat. I don't know at this time. I continue to play because its fun and mechanically one of the best shooters I have played in a while.
-
That's why I play. Besides how buggy it can be its veryyyy fun to play, and that's all that really matters (don't quote me on that Cuz developers need to stop being lazy regardless it's a fact)
