Not "everyone" in Halo t-bagged, and it was frowned upon then, too.
My biggest problem with it is that 9 times out of 10, nothing they did warranted a t-bag. Oh, you killed me while I was engaging your teammate? Good job, dude. I'm very impressed.
What's even worse is, so many people who t-bag don't even bother to do it over your body, they just t-bag from where ever they were so you can see it on the kill cam. Same as dancing.
And it's just poor sportsmanship thing. It's like dancing around in the end zone. It just makes you look like an asshole.
All that being said, I don't really care. It doesn't make me angry, it just makes me think you're a dick who I wouldn't want on my team.

Because of this comment I will change what I said above, you are right, not everyone t-bagged in Halo. However, it appears everything else you said is highly opinionated and has been said before in this discussion. Another issue is that you are comparing playing a video game to real life activities, which can make some people (like myself) instantly disagree with what you're saying. Regardless, thanks for your take. There are several people in this discussion that feel the same way you do.

"When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less." I'm just using an example of poor sportsmanship, not trying to relate it to real life. Do you think video games are somehow exempted from etiquette and sportsmanship? Part of it is a mentality thing, I guess. I've never felt compelled to do it. It's hard not to notice when I've killed you. You'll know, because it'll say, "Wheeze Killed xX MLG Pr0 TeAbaGGer Xx" in the killstream. You won't need to see me humping you to remind you. Do you, man. If you're tea bagging, obviously you don't care whether or not people respect you.

I mean its a video game, where people are running around KILLING one another, where is the respect to be earned there? I understand if you have an awesome game that was decided by a kill or two, I can respect those enemies. But it is hard to call for sportsmanship when killing one another. Sorry, but it is true.

You asked for reasons, I'm giving you reasons. A game is a game is a game. Just because this one happens to be in a virtual space, doesn't mean sportsmanship doesn't apply... Unless you think it doesn't. Not everyone feels the same way. If we were standing side by side playing, I'd shake your hand and say, "good game," regardless of whether or not I beat you. You t-bagging tells me that, if we were side by side, you'd say "git gud, scrub," regardless of whether or not you beat me. I'm not a trash talker. I'm not a tea bagger. It's not in my nature to brag or claim skills I can't back up. The scoreboard does all the talking I need, whether I want it to or not.

Fair enough. I'll just say we can agree to disagree on this one.

I've NEVER met one person who frowned upon tbagging in the Halo days.

Lol well apparently they were out there, hiding and afraid of some baggage
