Speaking only for myself, often when I play I am in a position where I am unable to speak (people sleeping/working/etc.). So I always message people to let them know that while I can't speak, I am experienced and can hear them to follow any directions as needed. Plus I try to communicate via dancing (Yes) and waving (No).
For me, most raiders don't seem to mind my silence, provided I don't do anything noobish, which I think is fair. But those who don't even give me a chance to prove anything is frustrating. It usually means a longer search for a team.

The proof is in the pudding my granddad used to say. Give the no-mics a chance and if there good keep em if not kick em simples, just don't assume that they are awful because they don't have or like using a mic. There are people out there who are shy, who are deaf, who are not confident enough to speak to or with new people and people who just want to play for the fun of playing the list is endless. As long as the no-mic knows what he or she is doing what's the problem, I play with no-mics all the time it don't bother me. I think someone should start a destiny raiding clan with the name of No-Mics were mics are banned that would be fun me thinks. GIVE PEOPLE A CHANCE!.
